Ack. What is everyone's fascination with Shepard (or parther) getting knocked up, anyway?

People kind of like the thought of a future for their Shepard. Gives them a sense a stability. Hell, if it makes them happy, then let them think and imagine.

Turians and quarians can't even reproduce, and they have the same type of DNA.

Humans don't have even a slight chance.

That argument is biologically the same question as "is it impossible for human to reproduce with other animals?", or with rocks. considering how much different their physiology are.

Mind you is it even a given that Shepard of either gender is still fertile?
Did Project Lazarus restore that functionality? That was nice of Cerberus if they did.

I've said it before I'll say it again. With Mordin's lab equipment, anything is possible! Bring on the half-breed abominations!
But seriously no. All boils down to different DNA structures being based on different amino acids, so it can't happen naturally. Then again the fun part is trying right? ;)

It's actually feasible, if it has DNA, and you have a 1 good 1000 years advancement in genetics, then it is possible. It just requires the DNA to be "garbled" up in the correct way. It's really just a matter of going mad with a knife and cutting up all the DNA shaped like a square into a triangle. Then again, this would not actually cause any inheritance from the male parent. But in technicality, it is your child.

On paper, it is possible, but it's more of a question of "has technology moved along enough to work that well with with genetics?".

Idk, but for some reason I got an email from Cerberus for a recall on my shephards genitals... Very awkward to explain to Ashley...

Rebuilding the body: 5 days. Getting the damn reproductive system working again: 1 year, 360 days.

I really don't think they were that bothered. Although, they did want shepard EXACTLY the way he was prior to suffocation and atmospheric re-entry.

My Shepard may be made of steel but she'd draw the line had having Garrus' baby even if it were somehow possible.
All those pointy bits? No ty.

Implying that a Turian younglings features (i.e all the pointy bits) would be fully formed at birth? Hell forget Shepard, think of the Turian woman, logically it must not be that bad if they survived as a species for as long as they have.

Why wouldn't they be? Their joints and feet wouldn't be any less pointy at birth. The head is debatable.
Regardless, Turian women would obviously be built to handle it.

The question of the century:

Does Garrus have a barbed penis?

Aheh, reminds me of that book in Daggerfall where Barenziah has sex with a Khajiit, and describes that in intricate detail.

Ah for the days when games weren't utterly prudish.

A little Biological factoid for you...humans can only reproduce with humans.

I really don't understand. I always figured these types of fantasies were just that: fantasies.

But do people actually think reproduction is possible between the different species of Mass Effect?

If so, my science hurts. So bad.

In the real world yes. But in Mass Effect we have mad Salarian scientists. And if that isn't enough we have galactic space rape, aka synthesis aka space magic :)

With Mac Walters as lead writer anything is possible!

If Walters wrote it, then an alien would get pregnant with a human or vice versa.
But the mother would die in childbirth. Also, the baby would be stillborn. Also, the room they were in would explode for no good reason.

Exactly. The mass effect universe has machines that have DNA aparently, so who knows?

Ughh..... There's a good reason and it's called space magic

Seeing as quarians are photoshopped humans, I'm kind of surprised that the two cannot breed.
