i have only played with two women on mass effect. one of them is my mother. my vote goes to n7 weapons being much more plentiful.

These are usually the options when a girl talks in a game:

1) Gets hit on (obviously).

2) "You're a girl you must suck." or "Your score was low. Must be because you're a girl."

3) "Oh wow you did a good job. That's amazing since you're a girl." My favorite backhanded compliment.

4) Rape threats and/or other awful verbal abuse.

5) "Stop playing video games and get back into the kitchen." (Yes, this deserves its own category).

So, as previously pointed out, my guess is that most girls just don't talk. I personally talk all the time but that's because I thankfully have not had a single person be a jerk to me in this game (PC).

I got that lots when I first started playing L4D.  Not many girls around AT ALL, and I remember when one of the regulars I used to play with discovered I was a girl, he couldn't get his head around it and stopped playing with me

Haha yes, you had time to go nuke some dinner and make a coffee while waiting for a game to load.  Lucky you, I never had Summer Games (I OR II), but I loved the Winter Games and could seriously kick butt at Biathlon and Figure Skating.  Hotdogging, too...  Krakout was another one of my fave games.

When we got our first PC, my Dad was so excited because it had a FOUR MEGABYTE HDD - awesomely huge.  Then Wolfenstein came out, and we almost couldn't install it because the game was nearly as big as the HDD.  Lucky we were running DOS....

I go back that far, too. I remember playing the Atari 2600 and Intellivision with my Dad when I was growing up --some of my fondest memories of him. Super Nintendo was my 12th birthday present (I also still have it -- ah, nostalgia! -- and it still works like a beast). Have been a gamer girl since I was roughly 5 or 6 years old... and just turned 27 in April.

Now, I play with my husband instead of Daddy.

I don't talk on the mic often (360) but when I do I've generally had good experiences with the menfolk. That said I think we women are more abundant than you might think - we just camoflauge ourselves quite well

I totally agree with you there!

I have the mic on, but I rarely use it... I have had experiences where guys have been really surprised that I am female -__-

Lots of females playing multi, and you would be surprised at how good and kickass they are.
On the other hand, i am N7 600+ and still awaiting for N7 weapons : i only have 3 at lvl 1 and thanks to Murphy's law none of those i'd like ^^

I've had plenty of female teammates in the pc multiplayer.....unless the pink-colored character customizations and what look like gender-specific gamer tag names are just dudes living out a transgender fantasy?

I very rarely talk as it is. If I were female, I'd talk even less because it can indeed lead into unnecessary unpleasantries. People can be such idiots, which is sad. Women shouldn't have to put up with undue harassment just for playing a game.
