Oh haha this joke never gets old. Really, it's the first time a thread like this appears in this forum. In fact, I think this is the first time ever this observation is mentioned on the internet itself.
Come on, make a joke about how we belong in the kitchen now. That's what everyone expects from you. It will be hilarious, I tell you.
Which is more rare, N7 weapons or female gamers?

I try to build my mass effect teams like an action movie, so we need a diverse group. We need the streetwise black guy, the bad ass chick, and maybe a british guy. I try to get my british guy and streetwise black guy to be one and the same, so we can get a stoner, a hacker, or a latino transgender stoner hacker from australia.
group of guys i play with consists of 1 candiana stoner of latino decent *we think* 1 scottsman *go man skirt* a black man named ducky and me, an over caffinated hamster. Currently looking for one female to expand group diversity. Must enjoy blowing sht up, calling us names/telling us to go back to our basements and quite walks on the beach while wearing body armor.
that does sound like an ace RPG (pen & paper ) group

Even my little sister plays Mass Effect, even though she never played another game in her live, and she loves it.
But I take it we are talking multiplayer here and I can see why you wouldn't come across a lot of women while playing it.
I for one try to only use my mic if I have to. I simply don't like people finding out I'm a girl, because I had to many bad experiences. Harassment against female gamers is rather common I'm afraid :/

The Mass Effect Universe showed us a human race that has finally got rid of its bigoted view on race, gender, religon and same-sex relationships. Hell they even had human / alien and human / machine relationships. Right enough raging....
I would say N7 weapons are rarer as this is the first chance I have had to get a nice shine N7 gun!! Been playing multiplay for less than a month, percentage-wise I would say more female players (20 - 40%) than N7 goodies. Commander Shepard comes as both Male and Female, several female aliens characters in multiplayer... they all can't be controlled by guys?

Few days ago I played a match with my black/silver armor turian soldier.
My team had a hot pink colored turian sentinel that glowed like a fairy princess in his tech armor.
I'm a chick. Fairy princess turian was not.

the nintendo wii started a female gamer revolution, there's many now, gently increase the challenge of games when they're not looking to up there competitiveness, before ya know it they're playing 900 hours of skyrim.
LOL, are you kidding? I had logged over 1000 hours in Skyrim, before I took a break, and I've never even touched a Wii. I've been gaming long before that...monstrosity came out.
I go way back to the Atari (you know, the joystick with one button?), when I was playing Centipede and Yar's Revenge.
Oh, crap. I just dated myself.
Edit: Anyway, we've always been around; we just don't feel the need to advertise our presence.

When I play alone, the rare times I've actually spoke in voice chat, few people seem to realize I'm female. Apparently I have one of those voices that isn't feminine enough to be definitively female. Also could be the smoking for over 20 years, but whatever.
But yes, females (of all ages) do exist in the multiplayer. From what I've seen, a lot of us are cautious about talking in public voice chat.

Nothing special. They just kill the **** out of the enemies just like any other player. I don't see how it is of any relevance that your teammates are male or female. Are female players supposed to kill reapers more kindly or something?

If your Krogan Vanguard is not an absolutely nauseating combination of green and pink, you're doing it wrong.

Is it nauseating? That's the most important bit, really.
