Eh, I have N7 weapons aplenty. This notion that lady gamers don't exist or are rare is so 1990s. It's really condescending and insulting. Really, get a new line already.

the nintendo wii started a female gamer revolution, there's many now, gently increase the challenge of games when they're not looking to up there competitiveness, before ya know it they're playing 900 hours of skyrim.

LOL, are you kidding? I had logged over 1000 hours in Skyrim, before I took a break, and I've never even touched a Wii. I've been gaming long before that...monstrosity came out.

I go way back to the Atari (you know, the joystick with one button?), when I was playing Centipede and Yar's Revenge.

Oh, crap. I just dated myself.

Edit: Anyway, we've always been around; we just don't feel the need to advertise our presence. Image IPB

Centipede!!! (just dated myself too.. ha)

qbert! (now I am wondering what the average age is.. I expected to be  the eldest here but it looks like there are a lot of us. LOL)

I have all the n7 weapons except for the paladin. Everything on common and uncommon is at 10, gold weapons are mostly mid rage 5 6 or 7 with a couple maxed out. N7 578 (as of this typing)

Ever play zaxxon? :b

yup, that was the one where you low fly over a moon base type city and shoot stuff right? that was another favorite. I always have a hard time remembering the name of it.  Moon Patrol was also good. and that jungle one where you jump from vine to vine avoiding crocodiles..

Just a tongue-in-cheek way of saying I've played a couple of hundred matches and have yet to hear any. Apparently, there are lots of them, however. :)

Lol, so far that I've experienced, I'd say ladies too. And I am a lady!

I've played ME from the beginning, and played ME3 MP even back in the demo. I almost always use my mic...unless I see everyone else had theirs off or my toddler is screeching at the top of his lungs and I'm pretty sure no one else wants to hear that (since I don't either).

I will say I used to bounce between groups (quick matches) frequently at the beginning of ME3, but as I've played and talked to other players I've gained a lot of friends that I enjoy playing the game with (and who apparently enjoy me as well) so as soon as I log on to XBox I'm getting invites to play in their groups, so now I end up with a lot of the same people now more so than new players.

Regardless I still only have 2 N7 weapons. That needs to change. :-/

That's the one. My personal favorite was a game called mule.

It's funny how any and all threads that have anything to do with female gamers get the most replies, as if it's anything new, and groundbreaking.

You're losing your touch BSN.

I play with my husband too! We are all set up in the computer room side-by-side.  No mics needed.  We get competitive in game... best to keep our comments to ourselves

That was Pitfall, one of my old favorites, too. And OMG to the person who played M.U.L.E.... one of my old favorites as well, but NOBODY I ever talk to remembers it but Dad! LOL

I do have to say I've not had one bad experience using a mic, though. All the dudes with mics I've run across have been cool and/or thought it was awesome a chick was playing with them and was just as good as they were. I am the only micced up chick I have run across, though. LOL Though one of my girl friends finally got a mic, so can't wait to team up with her again and bark it up.

Love my mic, though, and the guys seem fine with it. I tend to be in the habit of talking strategy, helping the newbies learn the ropes, shout out warnings of big bads, and general "team leader" type of stuff. No complaints from anyone, so I guess they're cool having a Commander Jane Shepard type in the room. Image IPB

Female gamers? Rare? Heh. You should talk to the ones I know and play Mass Effect with on a daily basis.

Never thought I'd find a fellow M.U.L.E. fan here.  If you weren't aware, there is an awesome remake by the original team available for free.  Still fun, actually:

I've been gaming since frogger was introduced at my local pizza hut and have never had a single female friend that was a gamer (my wife will play some rock band with me, however).  I'm a chemistry teacher and I do get the occasional female student that games, which is cool, but they think it's just as cool that they have a thirty-something year old science teacher that games so I guess it's a wash :)

Hard to say, given that it doesn't list gender of player next to all the kills you make.

I've been a "serious gamer" since I was ... ummm... let's just say since Doom / Wolfenstein did the rounds (prior to that, it was Winter Olympics etc on the Commodore 64...) I'm a girl. And for a very, very long time, somewhat of a rarity - there were no other girls that played games! For aaaages I was one of the only girls playing L4D too, but lately, there are a lot more female players, and it's great :)

I only very rarely hear anyone talking, female or otherwise. Don't have a mic myself, but that's mostly for reasons other than having girly parts.
My friends list consists of an exactly equal number (2 of each) of dudes and dudettes with voices though!

I'm assuming you mean the N7 promotional weapons, and not just the ultra-rares? I have one of those. And I expect at least 75% of players have at least one. Some people ofcourse have multiples.
It seems safe to assume there's about one Promogun per player.
But there isn't one female gamer per player, because then everyone playing would be female.

So female players would indeed be more rare than N7 weapons! (if you count ultra-rares too, this is even more so).

if you want a better kind of match, join our new group The Legion Effect. We have lots of girls as well as lots of chatty people, and no one hits on eachother!

we also provide good games and great fun ;p

All my ME3 buddies are from this list (thanks, btw).  I'm ok at MP, not great (I can carry my weight if another biotic is on the team to 'splode with), and pretty much get extraction all the time on silver and most of the time on gold when I play with these guys (still haven't met any girls from the list :)

Good times. I had all the EPXY games on my C64 (Winter Games, Summer Games I & II, and World Games). Wow, this is bringing back a lot of old memories, now.  Have to go dust thing off and see if it still works, play some Forbidden Forest.  Yay, 7 minute load times :)

I would say good players are more rare than female players or N7 weapons to be honest, from my experience.
