This as well.

It smacked of lazy action-movie cliche writing ("Oh my God!") and the references to dead characters "watching down on us" were incredibly frustrating when we had the chance in ME to explicitly reject the concept of an afterlife.

At least this one was a pleasant one! :D

All auto-dialogue is immersion breaking. No exceptions.

Immersion-breaking?? When did the immersion start? Seriously, as soon as the intro started and Shepard was talking to Vega (who?) then nonsense at the council then 1000 explosions, there was no immersion for me besides talking to Garrus/Tali/Legion... and that was only because of the previous games. Anything ME3-proper was like a (bad) movie.

ME3 is essentially an interactive Ed Wood movie. The crucible plot and the reaper motivation go hand and hand with Plan 9 from Outer space's stupidity.

Bleh. I just had my atheist Shep run right into that "Ash's looking down on us." line. First...he and Ashley couldn't stand each other. Second he made that zombie remark in ME1 so no he wouldn't think she'd be looking down at him.

Frankly it smells like that "no atheists in foxholes." tripe. When things get real bad all of a sudden athesist Shep is a believer. Excuse me while I vomit. <_<

More like my Shep needs Jesus to toss at the Reapers. :D He could turn them all into harmless puppies.

I don't recall having that line at all; I don't think it's autodialogue. So it's not really an issue.

Also, I loved that ME1 zombie comment. One of the greatest lines in the game.

Whenever Shepard put the needs of Earth before those of others without my consent I cringed slightly, my Shepard would never have even questioned Anderson saying we need to get to the Citadel, in fact, he'd have probably been the first to suggest it. Earth is nothing, my Shepard is fighting for the fate of the Galaxy.

You get that line from telling Garrus that no you wouldn't have killed Kaidan if it had come down to it. So yes it's a issue since the line gives you ZERO indication that's what's going to come out of Shep's mouth. And I *just* played that scene.

My choices are either make my Shep religious...or make him renegade. Fabulous. I love having to break character!

That and I know there's other automatic dialogue with religious tones I however mostly ignored them. (Mostly because I was too focused on how the other autodialogue was atrocious).

Same.

Oh, I must have accidentally skipped that conversation then (I went straight to Perseus Veil and hit the dreadnought post-Coup without talking to anyone beforehand). I assumed that maybe you were talking about the scene where Liara invades your room and you have an option to tell her you miss the VS (which I didn't take).

And yeah, I didn't like how my atheist Shep (in fact, I consider all my Sheps atheist) got stuck with semi-religious dialogue at some points. I just tried to imagine that he was just using them as figures of speech.

Yeah Garrus is standing infront of the memorial to the lost on the ship after the Coup. You then get that convo with him.

Ugh. I hated that scene. A. I didn't give a hoot about the VS and B. Someone ELSE far more important and relevant had died. The fact that this is completely ignored is downright painful. Especially considering Shep can be feeling massive guilt over this.

That's the only way I was able to not facepalm. I have to admit that "meet you at the bar." dialogue didn't seem too bad in comparison. Still...

".........you big, stupid, jellyfish!"

That was awful. Almost like if Hawke were to call an elf a knife-ear or something.

That wasn't technically autodialogue - you only get it if you pick a certain speech option. Still, I guess I had the impression that "jellyfish" is probably a racially offensive term when used towards a hanar, and the text on the dialogue wheel didn't tip me off at all that it would go in that direction. (I think it was just something like "Are you crazy?" or "Why would you do this?") I actually reloaded and played the scene over again so I could skip that speech option.

The 19 times someone says "Oh God" through the intro.

Although not auto-dialogue.

It killed it for me;.

And Thessia. I got that it made sense for Shepard to have a Heroic BSOD but apologising to the asari councellor I was internally screaming 'THIS IS YOUR FAULT YOU OBSTRUCTIVE BLUE BEUROCRAT!' at at the end of the Thessia mission? That made no sense on a Renagde Shep. At all. Forget my normal fear of the red options, I wanted to call her out on wanting to keep the beacon secret more than stopping the reapers until they got to HER world. But no - Shep can doom the Krogan, kill Mordin, lie to Wrexs face, cause the genocide of the Geth or the Quarians, but THIS s/he puts all the blame on herself for. Gah.

Oh hell yes.

Vega. My FemShep wouldn't have tolerated
his ****, and would have thrown him out of the airlock if he persisted
with his flirtations.

More generally, I'm a little sad we didn't
get a friendship/rivalry thing with our companions like in DA2 (that and
the emotive-icon dialogue wheel were pretty good additions, despite
most of the rest of the game), since a hostile rivalry with Vega might
save his character.

Hell YES. Or at least hook him by the nostrils and say "Oi, eyes up here buddy, the goods are for Garrus." A hostile rivalry a la DA2, that would be intriguing.

Does a scene count? If so, the flashback scene. The execution on that scene... not hating on Liara, but that broke some immersion for me.

i see alota people saying "sheperd being religious" but i never noticed that, i mean im religious and i didnt feel my shep said anything religious.

OT i felt most of the auto dialog was immersion breaking, i felt some of it was renegade and none of my sheps are renegade (full renegade at least)

Oh, so much that. Shepard's walking towards an explosion (why?) and he imagines, right before it goes off...  Joker, Anderson, and Liara? When did they become more important than everyone else, including his LI?

For me, a lot of the paragon lines. The paraphrase would say something that, in basic essence, would be something my Shepard may say, in the manner of one used to denying feelings or what have you, with just a little concern showing through over a hurt friend, or accidently baring oneself after learning about children in danger, so on...

...but then the line continues on into something progressively more and more sappy until I think "F***. That's not my Shepard at all."

Oh ra. I can headcanon Anderson and Joker easily enough but Liara? Especially over Shep's LI? Oh hell no.
