No, I don't think I got banned for that one. It was a couple of those s/s romance threads, I believe. The ones filled with insults and flaming that were just begging to be derailed.

You can't really form a good enough opinion from the first two eps which pretty much serve as introductions. You'll have to keep watching beyond that. Also people are still calling it just a fad? Far from it. It's been going too long to be a fad. Equestria Daily, the biggest brony site on the net has had 170524560 (!) page views growing every second as I tap this in my iPad. We're a full blown fanbase.

Skip the season one pilot, go to episode 3 and the show gets good. Of course being a fan of animated shows in general usually seems to be the common thread that binds bronies together.

It's something that just sort of happens, the show does a lot right that most animated shows do not. They get good characters, nice voice acting, a pace that suits the show, very well done animation and a testimate to waht good flash animation can look like, and overall its light hearted fun and helps take the edge off of a lot of things. It's easy to make jokes about or using the show and that's helped the fan community sustain itself, the fact thtat the show is as freindly to fan content as steam is to modders helps emmensly for it to grow.

But that's just my opinion, if you aren't interested than that's fine, I deplore those who belive that it is essential to like the show.

Heh, it's canon, but you should take a looksee here at Fallout: Equestria (its more FiM with Fallout elements rather than the reverse so any brony could get into reading it easily). It's fanon obviously but one of the best written stories I ever read. Never thought I'd be saying that for fan fiction either. Its actually longer than LotR. So popular it spawned its own following, also spawning over 100 side fics itself ranging from the terribad to the similar-in-quality-to-the-original, such as FO: E Project Horizons (longer than the first but still not completed) which I'm still reading. Not to mention the crapton of fan art for its memorable original characters. More about it in these links:
