Do everyone a favor and do the requested search.  I read your thread and you HAVE shouted everyone down and refused to accept anything other than your own preconceptions.

You don't understand burden of proof. You make a claim, you prove it.

Spoiler alert:

If you prove it, you win. One video, just one video, of EDI survivng the destroy ending will completely and utterly destroy everything I am saying.

But you wont. You'll make your claim, you'll present no proof, and you'll instead slag off the guy asking you to prove it, because that's totally an unreasonable thing to ask someone who said "A synthetic can survive the destroy all synthetics ending".

Don't believe this myth people. EDI cannot survive the Destroy ending.

I saw Weeks confirm EDI can in fact live and it wasn't a bug WITH MY OWN EYES in real time.  For me, it doesn't get much better than that for proof.  Take that for what  you will.

The Geth have also fought AGAINST us for three straight games. They're responsible for thousands of organic deaths, of all races, not just the Quarians.

I chose to leave the Geth Infiltration unit that was stalking me on the Derelict Reaper deactivated, and passed it to the Illusive Man for testing.

I then sided with the Quarians in the Rannoch arc, and helped them regain their homeworld.

The Geth played no part in the final battle, and no part in my final decision.

Indeed if you already picked against the Geth for whatever reason (in one case my Renegade Shep decided that the Geth lied once too many times), then the choice to destroy becomes a lot easier.

That's one of the reasons I picked Control. It just was horrible brutal and plain dumb. Not only are you giving in to Catalyst's logic but you're punishing your allies for what your enemy did. It's like killing a serial killer's family on the vague chance one of them may become a serial killer.

Heretic geth who are also geth without post-rannoch architecture. Now the Geth are as sentient as any other race in the galaxy.

As much as you might not like it, that claim can be dismissed, as burden of proof requires actual proof. You are saying she can survive, you are presenting no proof.

Whereas in control you are letting off the Reapers scott free without even an inkling that you will be able to control them at all after you are "Dead" and "lose everything".  That isn't what your allies and subordinates signed on for, so I consider this a betrayal.

As odd as it sounds, as I'm not a part of this argument, I'm actually trying to find clips of it happening and I can't find anything. And I've heard tons of people talking about it, using it as reasoning that the starchild was lying about the consequences of the destroy ending.

But now that I'm searching, I can't actually find anything. Either it was never there, or Bioware is .. I dunno.. order takedowns on Youtube?

I don't have to prove anything to you.  I know what I saw and you've already been invited to do the search.  Enough said.

That's the thing, Geth do not have families or civilians, they are all capable of picking up arms and they were fully commited to the fight. We are dealing with the context of the final battle not a hypothetical battle with a enemy that has morals.

The Geth in my eyes paid the ultimate scaifice in my eyes, sure but the unknown price of Control and Synthesis was too high.

They're all betrayal. Seriously. Each one is a certain game's main villain's modus operandi.

destroy = reapers
control = tim
synthesis = saren

you pick any of them, you prove that shepard fought for nothing. only actual choice is to walk around and wait for the crucible to randomly explode.

Well supposedly, there was a youtube video that happened to be doctored, the main source we have (that still exists) is an unofficial Fan interview of Weakes which unfortunately i cannot find the BSN post to so http://forums.digita...1641567&page=14 is another location. Scroll down.

The logic was that the only thing truly destroyed was the reaper code. Unfortunately said fan interviewer didn't ask for a clarification and kinda forgot the answer. There may have been a twitter by weakes but i can't dig it up either.

Or even friends? They're all individuals now, so all the traditional aspects of being a person come into play.

Shepard was Legion's best friend and that was even before the Geth all became individuals.

Legion is dead. The Geth are not Legion. They are unknown individuals, basically numbers on the battlefield now.

Every race went into the final battle knowning that they could all die, and that they were the last hope of their speices. If we failed to stop the Reapers, nothing would stop them from finishing off the rest of the galaxy so the Geth dying is a worthy scaifice in the grand scheme of all life in the galaxy.

My Shepard would do it again.

@IanPolaris It's actually pretty easy to believe Shepard just became the new Catalyst. It makes sense and that's what the ending told me. So yeah I don't see it as a betrayal. Plus it's my way of saying "Screw you and everything you stand for!" to the Catalyst. In the other two endings, you're acknowledging that Catalyst is right. Organics vs. Synthetics is the huge problem that those two solve, albeit in different ways. I simply decided that Catalyst is wrong, that the geth and quarians working together outside was proof of that, and that I should just remove the only problem I saw in the equation: the Reapers themselves

You have no reason to think you are the new anything if you pick control.

Then Mordin was right.

Without a face to assign to a cause, you become a monster. Legion sacrificed himself, but unbeknownst to him, Shepard only cared about Legion, thus Legion doomed his entire race to die.

Jeez. Talk about grim.

 Can always pick control and fly the reapers into the sun. Same effect (minus sacrificing synthetics).

That's what I did in my headcanon.
 If speculation for everyone taught us anything, it's that this is entirely possible.

It was never on Youtube. There is no videos of her surviving the destory ending, because she can't.

A lot of people have been talking about it like she can because of people like Polaris, who hate the ending, spreading rumours of her survivng. If you ask someone their answer will be "I heard it from someone/I heard Bioware said it" but then they'll realise they've never actually seen any evidence of this, they just automatically assumed it was true for some reason.

Then there are those few that go "I saw it with my own eyes, but I'm not in any way going to prove this, (attack me for asking for proof)" and those are the main ones spreading this myth, which seems to be mostly motivated by a hate of the Catalyst. I've been spending a lot of time dispelling this myth, so much infact that I'm the top result on Youtube for "Edi survives destroy ending" :).

But that's a false rebellion

it's still a choice starchild created, and there's no reason to believe starchild would actually create a solution where he would lose.
