I dislike Specialist Traynor, what was the point of replacing Kelly Chambers.

Samantha seemed to be just a replacement at the beginning, but the more I talked to her, the more I begin to like her. She is an expert in her field, professional, geekish, funny, cute and possesses sexy RP accent. Her flirtiness to FemShep doesn't feel forced and the whole romance is my ME3 favourite so far.
And Traynor is the only lesbian character in the series. Kudos to her for representing.

It would have been another way to allow you to customise your crerw, seeing as most of them have been forcibly taken away from you to become teachers/fathers/mobile phones/dead.

Kelly was just standing looking pretty and making random comments and stating the obvious.

Also the point that Kelly was Cerebus doesn't mean anything, Kenneth Donnelly and Gabriella Daniels were also part of Cerebus and could be brought back to the Normandy.
Bioware really should have made Traynor optional, and be specifically for new comers to the series or those who poorly played ME2 and thus ended up killing their crew members including Kelly.

But besides that... Kelly was a joke of a romance and as flat as characters get. She was cool, yes, to that I agree. But Traynor actually DID something. She FELT like part of the crew...
And it was nice hearing another accent other than American/Canadian for once :-)
How did Traynor play like part of the crew? I'm on my second male playthrough of ME3 and Traynor is just as dull and boring as my first run.
Kelly was a real keeper, she always asked how were you doing, told you the status of the crew members, even offered to tidy up your Cabin. You get none of these pleasentries from Traynor.
coz americans are fine with exploding heads and gibbed bodies all over the place but apparently cant handle the sight of side-boob or a nipple

Bioware tried hard to sell Traynor. Ultimately in the future nobodies really going to be talking about Traynor but Kelly on the other hand? The fact that she can die, in ME 2 and ME 3, the fact that her fate is tied up with the Citadel in the ending (Nobody asked Weekes about Traynor at Pax did they? No but Kelly was asked about), the dancing and the feeding of fish? Yeah people will still be talking about Kelly for a while yet.

Because Chambers can be dead, and they wanted someone at the side of the map to help with important updates regardless.Michale_Jackson wrote...
like seriously? Traynor seems so fake and not communciative at all compared to the previous woman that filled that position.
Why Bioware? Why couldn't you leave well enough alone and let Kelly get her job back on the Normandy like Dr. Chakwas.
Now, why some well-connected high-value individual, like an intelligence chief of some kind, couldn't fill in for the important bits...

Kelly Chambers reads your mail and talks about cats.
I know who I'd want by my side to stop the world from ending.

I once talked to a "real" lesbian woman, and she said something to me I never forgot. She said..."you know, I don't sleep with my girlfriend for any reason different than you sleep with your wife. Its not about male fantasy"...... Now I know it very much is a male fantasy seeing all female flesh tangled up everywhere you look, like that. Then add the obviously model quality, lipstick lesbian factor that a fem-Shepard and Traynor do bring into this. I'm guess Ilm saying if you really are about your social correct statements, you would not so obviously go straight for the lipstick lesbian stuff. You could write dialogue that gives them the two people who just happen to be attracted or are in love into it, rather then hitting us right over the head at the start with the fantasy. Right away Traynor and Shep come onto each other, and then the stupid shower while fully dressed comes in because you can't even be logical about it.... It just kind of betrays the whole point of being politically or socially correct.
If they took a bit more time to develop a Traynor/fem-Shep lesbian relationship. If instead of going to the cliche women hot for each other right off that bat, you go and make them two humans first, then you maybe are a little more honest, and in line with your point of doing this to begin with.
I often hold up the Tali and Shepard romance as a model, and I think for good reason. There is just something about they way they handled it...like taking the time to show she was nervous and full of self doubt about Shepard even wanting her. The Quaraian's do have that suit-rat monkey on their backs, They have, as a people, been looked down on for so long. Anyways, creating a sense of a being with baggage, even though Traynor would not bring the same baggage, but something like that buried in the dialogue, would have gone a long way here. Traynor, at least with the fem-Shepard, feels undeveloped as a character in the bedroom....
Still like her character. To me she is of Indian roots. I would have liked a bit more of an ethnic look there. As she stands, she does have a bit of the generic look of the the rest of the crew. Have not romanced her yet with my male Shepard. After Tali, it going to be a very tough act to follow I think.

That's not fair. It's only the southern parts of the US that are like that... Fox News sucks.

Do anyone else here dislike Traynor?
<< btw I'm a male Shepard.
dont forget Traynor is not an official member of the Normandy's crew, she's a tech who just happened to be working on the normandy's systems when the Reapers hit Earth.

Basically everyone on board is a tech who just happened to be working on the Normandy's systems when the Reapers hit Earth. Except Joker's guards, and the people you pick up later.

The Normandy is a warship, not someplace everyone can play 'house'.
Sounds harsh but put it this way, a zombie apocalypse occurs, who would you rather have by your side, a loveable hippy or a special forces soldier, I know what I'd pick.
Inb4 you say, I know Traynor isn't a soldier, but it's just for comparison sake.
Besides, it's Traynor that intercepts transmissions that help save Grissom academy etc, without her, you wouldn't have got there in time.
It's an RPG yes, but the galaxy faces annihilation, we're not playing The Sims.
