That's not good. I hoped for constructive criticism. Vitriolic feedback is something Bioware will not listen to.

Bioware will listen to statistical results and so will EA. In fact its what they use to make decisions in a lot of cases. Big statistics is where the big money is at stake.

I agree. But this is not statistical results since it does not reflect any population. The statistics will be skewed thowards people who are the most dissapointed with the ending because they have the strongest incentive to do the poll. As long as Bioware or EA don't know that the estimated parameters are unbiased and has it's variance they will not act upon it. Im working as a statistician and econometrician and those that hire me would not draw any inference from this kind of poll if i presented it and i suspect the same to be the case for Bioware. Might be wrong though.

Yes, nearly 18,000 participants were counted :)

The results are coming soon. But because its a lot of work, we can't giv you a concrete date. We can only estimate. But the results will definitely arrive the next few days.

Hopefully you can bridge the time by reading some of the user feedbacks:
http://www.masseffec...se.de/feedback/

@Cstaf
Yes, your thoughts are very probably true. It all depends on the target audience. And it's quite normal that the people who are somehow disappointed by some aspects of a product express their displeasure. Those who are happy with the game were probably not often survey participants. Only the people who dislike aspects of the game (for example the ending) and the "real" fanbase form the audience of surveys and other user activities.

By the way: This forum needs really some "Do you really want to leave"-dialogue when trying to close the tab. Lost my whole reply just this minute :pinched:

BW may listen to their 'fans' but theyre not stupid, a 15k online survey is not representative of the entire ME3 buying public. its not a measurable percentage of the whole and theres little incentive for ppl [like me] who are satisfied with the ending

the only thing i want BW to do with those #s is roll their eyes and get to work on some real dlc. i dont care about multiplayer or the extended cut fanservice pack: i want real narrative solo campaign dlc, been sick of the fluff for months

That's not really relevant. I've made surveys with less than 15 000 observations to make inference about countries with populations in the millions. The problem is that the observations isn't random and therefor bias.

I refer to the message above. 3,5 mios of ME3 games have been sold until now (estimation).

However :

- I note that many ME3 exemplars are available on second-hand market - or occasion market (good english wording ?). A lot of players have already re-sold the game. In 2 videogame shops around my little city in France,
I have counted more than 10 second-hand exemplars.

- A lot of players have played to the game. Maybe they love it, maybe not, but they have already get over it, and put the game box in a corner. We are fans, so for us, it's very hard to turn the Mass Effect page.

- I know a lot of offline players (no internet subscription or X-Box live / Origin account). The majority of them dislike the ending.

- Please have a look to this link : http://beta.xfire.com/games/meffect3

All right, it's only information related to X-Fire account. I think that EA/BW have information regarding the numbers of connected people playing to ME3 thanks to Origin, X-Box Live or PS3 account. I am sure that the result should be the same : the number of players is decreasing too. Why ? Because MP is repetitive and SP has no replayability at this stage.

It's why this kind of survey has to be considered seriously by EA/BW.

Sorry for my poor english Image IPB

Don't understand why people not liking the ending and the number of players decreasing is validating this kind of survey. Look, im not bashing the effort of this poll - im applauding the effort, but the poll does not accurately reflect any population.
Im only saying this as a statistician who is working as a consultant that no company would change their strategy based on polls not accurately reflecting their target population. There is just to much uncertainty and constructing an accurate survey is VERY expensive, therefor not many companies does it.

There are many ways to model social behaviour and product success. This poll adds information. Stating that they wouldn't change the strategy isn't really relevant, even if you are a statistician, as the people that make decisions aren't statisticians, rather managers who may or may not have a clue about statistics. What's relevant is that there are many models that could use this poll as an input to predict how many actually didn't like the game. I'm pretty sure that loud and vocal fans are just the tip of the iceberg.

I'd say sociology plays a big role in determining whether or not ME3 was a successful product. Millions of sales says nothing, if they don't transform into repeat sales. Besides, it's hardcore/invested fans who buy single player DLC, not casual buyers. DLC doesn't usually sell in the millions.

There would be a commercial and financial impact on the sale of the next DLCs if the number of active players is decreasing.

On the other hand, in my mind, people who really love Bioware and/or Mass Effect franchise have to reply to this kind of survey, even if they love the ending of ME3.  It's a good opportunity to each of them to defend their point of view.

It's easy to say that this survey concerns only players who dislike the ending. I disagree. For me, people who don't reply to this kind of survey (assuming that they know the existence of this one) are people who don't really care about Bioware company or Mass Effect franchise. The fact that they loved or hated the ending is not the question. They have simply played to  "ordinary games".  Obviously, it's only my opinion.

I agree with you : an accurate survey is very expensive. But I think that that the result of this survey will be representative, whatever the final result.

And thank you again to the german communauty for their great work !

Yes, it does seem inane to bump this when no new info is out.
