"Look how many people love Liara! We should make her the co-protagonist and canon LI when we make ME4! Also, since almost everyone is paragon, we'll just make our next game with no choices and have the story automatically follow a strict paragon path! Thank you for your feedback; we listen to the fans!"

Don't let them hear that. It might become true

also, for the love of God DO NOT let Casey and Mac interpret the results...let them get coffees or something....and be careful about that too, their artistic vision of coffee might involve salt rather than sugar

Thank you again for all your feedback. It seems that you like our analysis and that's very nice to read.
I found it interesting and it pretty much matched my thoughts. Here is a part that tells it like it is:
In many (fans), there is currently a disappointed basic tenor, which is primarily ascribed to the endings and not based on negative experiences with the rest of the game. Because of the breach of trust the message about the Extended Cut does only little to calm the minds as well. However, exactly this upcoming DLC offers an enormous opportunity to recreate that trust and make Mass Effect 3 the game that it should have been...

And an incredibly biased sample. 98% imported Sheps (against like 50% among overall ME players), 56% PC players (in reality, PC is the last after X360 and PS3), 44% own CE. The survey is interesting and all, but it is not very representative of all the people who bought the game.Jamie9 wrote...
I secretly love stats. And this is the most comprehensive and largest sample size we have so far. It was very interesting to see the codex-related chart, and just how many people play paragon characters.

would you like a typical happy ending?
yes 20.2%
no 9.7%
should be a possible option 70.1%
so agrees with other servays I've seen.

Theory fits evidence. Long-time fans of ME loved the game until the ending, which was not done well. BioWare risks losing the hardcore ME fanbase (the ones buying prints, shirts, etc) if acceptable changes are not made.
yes I've said the sa,e thing more than once

But represents people who preordered the game and are target for DLC and merchandise pretty fairly. Financially this sector is pretty important to the company. Don't you think?IsaacShep wrote...

but it is very representative of all the people who care enough about the game to make the effort to participate, and let their feelings be known.

However, I'm completely baffled by the three recommendations in the conclusion which are not supported in any way by the preceding survey data.
To recap, your data is:
- 69.1% chose the Destroy ending
- 80.5% regards Destroy as the optimal ending
- 89.8% was disappointed in the ending (with 69.1% finding it 'terrible')
- 59.1% believe wholeheartedly in IT
- People are divided over the nature of the Catalyst
- 15,1% feels optimistic about the EC
- 90,3% wants a typical happy ending
From these data points, you conclude:
- We need clarification what happens after the Crucible goes off (while none of your survey questions even touch upon the consequences of firing the Crucible.)
- We need clarifcation about:
- the nature of the Star Child (fair enough, your data suggests this)
- Joker's escape (not examined by any survey question)
- Squadmate teleporting to Normandy (again, not examined by any survey question)
- We need clarification on the impact of player decision on the larger Galaxy (a theme never mentioned in the survey)
While I agree with your recommendations, they are not grounded in your own survey data, which completely undermines your argument.

We said at the beginning, that we matched our survey results with post's in the different forums. So we put also things in it, why people don't like the ending and that was things like the argument in the point 1.
And so in fact, the recommendations fit to the results, because we see, how many people don't like it in the survey results and in the forum, why they don't like it. And so we matched these two things together.
And as you said, you agree with our recommandations, so we are not totally wrong, with it.

Biased towards invested fans, yes. How much, you don't know. The 50% import percentage is from ME2, nothing is known from ME3. And I don't think PC is behind PS3.IsaacShep wrote...

Also, this is the segment of the player base which talks most about the game, in a good or bad way. I'm not saying this should be taken as gospel, but together with Bioware's own statistics you'll get a rather comprehensive picture.
