ok, so i finally got it installed and im able to join a server, patches are done, took off shinny water, back ground sound, tryied the windowed mode fegured out a lot of my questions that i have been posting. well suffice to say i have learned and done quite a bit. found the cpu affinity and looked at everything, updated the graphics driver and so forth from the driver site. well its still choppy, so i dont know what more i can do.

When you say background sound? Did you mean hardware sound?
My computer went choppy and it was a sound thing for me.I fixed mine with just selecting or un selecting hardware sound.
It can be more complicated though but I would try that.

sorry, yes, i ment hardware sound. i just updated the video drivers again and was told i have the latest version. i know last time when i updated it, it took about 15 mins to complete.
