Nah, Shepard is a legend as is Tali, Garrus, Mordin, Legion. It was a fantastic story, setting etc. I will remember it fondly.

I do wish Bioware/EA had continued with the integrity they had when ME1 came out rather than just trying to sell the franchise out as much as they can, but this is business i guess.

I regret it to the point were I stupidly blew $80 on a product before it was even released. So in that respect, yeah I over invested both literally and figuratively.

Lessened learned. Do not let your investment in any property override your obligation as a consumer to make smart, well informed decisions on the products/services you buy-regardless of the track record of the provider of said products and services.

And in that, I am thankful for Mass Effect in reinforcing that outlook, as opposed to some other investment colossally worse (like a new car) reminded me of it.

No though for a while I did regret the decision to pre-order but only due to the price dropping quickly.

Yes I feel annoyed and frustrated, but still inspired enough to play the game and use my imagination. And have the opportunity to discuss the game etc with a larger community thru' the forum and have taken immense enjoyment from that.

So 5 minutes of an obscure ending at the end of a flawed but still entertaining game?

Totally No Regrets

I don't regret getting invested in the series, because the original vision they used in ME1 was wonderful.  ME2 was good IMO, and regardless of what people thought I liked it.  Sure, didn't like working with Cerberus, but they were the only people doing anything about the Collectors.

Mass Effect 3...I'm glad I didn't get the Collector's edition...I regretted not getting it for ME2, and I wanted to get it for ME3, but it was so close to release, and I wanted to avoid preorders because I didn't think that I would need some of the stuff in it and the last preorder I made was Dragon Age II (I enjoyed it, but some of the things that occured like repeated maps and layouts made me wary about preordering games, which I already rarely did).  I was going to wait until some people backed out of their CE preorders so I could buy it...I decided I didn't want to wait a week and just got the regular edition.  I loved it...obviously until the last 10 minutes.  It made me glad I didn't fork out the extra money for the collector edition.  Even if I didn't get the metal case or the CE soundtrack, the OST was released on iTunes so I wasn't really at a loss since I really only wanted the soundtrack.  The composers can shut up and take my money (directly).

One of my friends waited for the collector edition to buy it.  Poor guy.  He despised the ending just as much as I did after absorbing it all (and I didn't even tell him about the ending; he went in blind like I did).  And he romanced Tali, so there was no way for him to build her a house on Rannoch. :(

A resounding "nope". The ending aside, "it was totally worth it".

Even if ME3 is disapoitniting although I'm sure 90% of it will still be a great game.  The Mass Effect universe is amazing!  I don't trust BioWare or EA to handle any future ME games in that universe as I did before ME3s release but I'd still love more games set in the ME universe.

I've always thought a game set in the Terminus Systems like ME2 but with more planets and stations to vist would be amazing.  Perhaps as an undercover spectre, bounty hunter that kind of thing would be well worth a day one purchase.

I think we've reached an unfortunate end to an era when it comes to enjoying single player games. Financially the incentive isn't there anymore.

I am positive that I'm no longer touching any RPG from an EA company moving forward.

All that being said, I have no regrets about Mass Effect.

After trying all three endings I felt like i had wasted time and money. For a little while I wished I had never played Mass Effect. Still not fully recovered. I am hoping that the EC DLC can fix enough of the ending. Also that there will be Mass Effect games post reaper war.

No, I really love ME 1 and 2. I just stopped playing 3 part way through as I realised it's really not as good as the first 2 and not what I was looking for as a continuation of the series.

3 is now uninstalled, but 1 and 2 will always entertain me and my dislike of 3 won't change that.

No, but i still hate the disappointing ending to all that buildup. For some reason, there are people who cannot go back and enjoy ME 1 or 2 for what they are, because ME3 is like haunting the whole thing for them. Lucky for me, i can easily ignore ME3 and enjoy the past games.

I´m happy to have a sci-fi setting that is good and inmersive, and who knows, maybe in a long time bioware will release some game based in the mass effect universe that i can also like.

I don´t consider shepard´s story to be "mass effect" he is just one guy who had a good buildup history and a very bad conclusion. I would enjoy a ME game based around ME1 time or even before, however i would dislike anything that happens after ME3, which will consider that game canon, as i can´t take seriously most of that game even as background.

So no, ME3 is a terrible game but it didn´t make me forsake my interest in the ME universe altogether. For me it´s jut a disappointing sign of the direction of bioware under EA, but the setting as was created in ME1, and expanded in ME2, will always be there for future things like books or other games that don´t need to be shooters.

I kind of do. ME3 was disappointing and it seems like ME is headed towards being another mindless shooter, multi-play title.

I'll agree with this one. As much as I cherish and adore the first Mass Effect, the following sequels just did not measure up. The third one makes a mockery of the series entirely. I had never had a game series I had invested so much thought, emotion, and time into other than Mass Effect. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased when all I recieved in the end was a gigantic middle-finger from BioWare.

Had I known it would end like this, I wouldn't even have pre-ordered ME1.

If anyone brings up Mass Effect to me, the first thing I feel is a flash of rage. THEN I remember all the good things about it. The ending may not ruin the trilogy entirely, but it definitely taints it.

I guess I'm just lucky.

The ending of ME3 while terribad, does not hamper my enjoyment of more ME3, Me2 or ME1. (though after the dozens and dozens of times I've played ME1 and ME2, I need a much needed break from those two).

But I can understand others dismay, I think its abit on the little overboard side, but I understand.

But then I'm also the guy that likes bad movies from time to time and even PAID to have some in my collection because they were just awesomely good at being bad.

So my opinion my be a bit skewed. That said, I can honestly say that I enjoyed ME3 almost as much, if not more than I enjoyed ME1 when I first played it, granted the ending left me wanting... I dunno... more fulfillment? Either way I plan on enjoying all 3 and have optimism that a 4th or a new title will be in the pipeworks.

I adore the universe and its characters and want more of both.

I haven't played ME 3 yet but I can't see why it would stop someone enjoying the first two games. What I don't understand is why BioWare got it so wrong with ME 3. If the endings are that bad surely someone would have spotted this...

Nope. I have no regrets about this game series because they were fun.

So it's been 3 days and since than I've began roleplaying with some other users in an RP thread taking place around mass effect 3.

So nope, still invested and having more fun ever since the third game came out.

Also being able to play as a batarian and falcon punch/ hokuto shinken people to death is still awesome.

Yup, not for the endings but for the replays where I starting taking the games so seriously that I was screaming at the screen when there wasn't an option to say what I wanted Shepard to for the millionth time. No I DON'T want to keep giving Miranda encouraging speeches, I DON'T want to say I didn't give the 'For-the-evulz' organisation the reaper tech collector base because it was 'betraying the colonists' and I DON'T want a speech option that says I TRUST someone to actually turn out to be 'Well she hasn't killed us yet'. I want to be as harsh to Miranda about her actions and backstory as I can be to Jack, I want a renagade interrupt when she tries to chew out Joker and I want to be able to tell the VS that I have played through Pragia and Cerberus's self-righteous little excuses enough times to safetly say that I hate them a helluva a lot more than you Ash/Kaiden!

...ME2 made me want to metagame. And have Overlord style paragon interrupts whenever a LOT of people opened their mouths.

When you have to skip someones dialogue because it genuinely hurts to see your charachter getting along with them, you're a bit too invested. Or obsessed and in need of a game without 'morally gray' characters. One of the two.

Do I regret getting invested in my Sheps for 1 & 2? Not a droplet. But when it comes to 3, then yeah, that piece of half=done work (entire game, not just the ending) wrecks my mood for replay in the earlier titles.

3? Yeah, I regret it. Waiting to see what the extended cut does. I still play 1 & 2, but they've lost a bit of their luster from all this.

Let's put it to a vote!

I still don't accept the game is over. It's still sitting on my "unfinished games" pile although I've completed it.

I payed $20 bucks for ME2 (minus DLC) and I got well over 300 hours of playtime out of it, best 20 bucks I ever spent.
