love masseffect and for the most part it was great but the ending was not good, worked hard and did everything to keep shep alive and all I get was a breath and no closure.

I literally skimmed through 100 pages of this forum real quick and did not find a thread that had a post within the last year.

You had to have gone further than that or searched and revived this dead thread. Thanks.

I regret NOTHING.

Of course not, ME was one of the greatest gaming experience I've ever had.

Every new time I play the games I still see something new like a detail and a reference to something.

I regret it but not for the reasons the OP was trying to evoke out of me. I regret it because I got so hooked and couldn't pull myself away from it... I am now able to only because I'm forcing myself to play something different. But by God this stuff was like crack, very addictive with the replay value.

I really feel duped and used.

Then you never really enjoyed yourself to begin with.

I had my problems with the endings, but to completely erase all the fun and good times?

You're just a meladramatic princess if the endings affected you that much.:P

No, because the majority of the trilogy is still good, coupled with most of the EU.

ME is one of those things where I can comfortably say "their new stuff sucks". The comics haven't been good since Invasion. ME3 was pretty dumb (Citadel DLC is fantastic though), and the most recent book is a crime against nature.

Yes... and no... on the one hand, I wish I never played it so it wouldn't take such a toll on my emotions, and I wouldn't spend so much time obsessing over something that really bears no consequence on my real life (well not really), but on the other hand I do not regret putting in those hours to soak up the game.

Regrets? No.

I'd rather have played the series, and loved the series, but been disappointed by the ending, than never having played it at all.

On balance, even with my feelings towards how the trilogy was wrapped up, it's still a series I adore for many reasons.

I regret that everyone who incessantly complains about the game ever picked it up in the first place. Wish they had just walked past it in the store and picked up Grand Theft Auto or something.

Aside from that, no I have no regrets. Was it perfect no but it was great nonetheless.

Why would you regret that? Is that even the right word for it? None of these people should even matter. It'd make sense if you were the one who recommended it to them first, and now they crawl in your bedroom at random hours in the night, pin you down while you try to sleep, and overwhelm you with complaints. ^_^

agreed (noticed the spot were you can see the citadel-flagship and talk with companions about it for the first time in my latest play-through of ME1...also i kind of didn't finish it, after thinking about ME3, i just could not continue)

and yes, the series as a whole is great (2/3 of it anyway!) and i don't regret much (also ME3 makes me FURIOUS...hell, i hate that game with a passion (everything but the gameplay - and i didn't like the rolling that much - is just so freaking atrocious IMHO (maybe that is the hype talking (at least parts of this - the rest is the marketing lies!)) and was ready to just imagine that Bioware doesn't exist anymore...then the re-take movement came and i became invested again (even if i hate extended cut, too - even more this kick in the balls that was the new refuse ending!) and started hearing/reading about dragon age: inquisition and ME4...and well, here i am (still regretting my ME3 Pre-Order!) and i will hang on for a while longer

so all in all:

no, i don't regret it, it was a fun ride (that started to become a nightmare in the end (in the end means the whole of ME3 for me)...but that does not discount two fabulous game though!)

greetings LAX

Yes. The passive-aggressiveness is irritating.

You should start a thread about it.

They're not as bad as those "Am I the only one?" threads.

I regret getting the last game. And not only that but it was the first video game I bought the special edition one for. Never again.

I don't regret playing the first two games though. Those two are great.

yes.  but its a natural course of dealing with the abomination of story which was me3....

the problem im having in rewriting it though, is that everyone seem to be having a different opinion on how to advance me2 plot. still some progress is being made which hopefully help other people like binary

So you are telling me it was those f**kers keeping me up at night?

I wasn't actually being serious.  Just taking a shot at all the people that supposedly hate it yet keep talking about it.

After EC, and the final "screw you" to players who dared question the the endings, yeah, I am filled with regret.

I regret becoming invested in a character over five years, believing that "These are your Shepards" only to have MY Shepard suffer pretty much the exact same fate regardless of choice or EMS score.

I regret believing that our choices would make a difference aside from "which atrocity would you like to perform?"

I regret thinking we would actually be allowed to take a principled stand without a "Rocks Fall" outcome

But most of all, I regret trusting that Bioware still had their fans' interests at heart. That they still had the magic that got them to the top of the RPG heap. Now rather than making the player feel like they are part of the story, we get led by the nose to predetermined fates with barely the opportunity to speak, let alone act to change our course. No longer is it OUR Shepards, but THEIR Shepards. We're just along for the ride.

SO again, yes I am filled with regret. Sometimes I wish I had never heard of Mass Effect.
