2- Decent game, worth playing once but too many RPG features were removed so its still a step down from 1
3- isnt an RPG its a sci fi shooter, with pretty much everything that made ME so great removed

And I only recently noticed, that running looks so much better in ME1 than ME3. Especially for femShep. It's actually difficult for me to stand in ME3. She moves like she was in high heels, trying to catch a bus - wth??

I mean, theres so many things that are just wrong and don't flow.
I could be on the edge of cover and sometimes I can't repeatedly shoot.
Half the time when I choose a conversation choice theres an uneasy pause between when the NPC finsishes talking and when I begin. It seems so non organic.
Whenever I go to cover thats waist high, Shephard just stand there against it instead of crouching. I know some will say "WELL GOD!!!....do you want the game to play for you too!!!" But the fact is anyone with a decent mental capacity would duck appropriately. I wouldn't think about it in life why would a soldier go "O, hai, I'm getting shot...guess I should duck" >then hit the default button to duck.
Some of the conversations aren't organic either. It's basically NPC asks a question and the different choices start off like a completely new conversation that someone started. It's seems sooo odd.
The scale of ME1 is still there and I the RPG elements are better. But anyone who chooses ME1 over ME2 or ME3.....I dunno....I don't even think it's a matter of opinion. These things in ME1 are not objective.
Nostalgia. I've played it twice since ME3 came out and I can not fathom how I tolerated the MAKO.

femshep moves like she does in the dream sequences only sped up a bit. Basicly all movement in ME3 were you are not carrying a gun looks kind of goofy, but the story compensates in the first half of the game
Not for me. Too much running around the Citadel

I take Mako over Hammerhead every time!
On a related note - when I replayed ME2, I kept wondering why my shuttle is so quiet and where is my pilot

male Shepard running is best in ME2, in ME1 male Shepard running looks bit girlish running

ME2 was mostly trash and so is ME3, can't wait to see the next Mass Effect game turning into an FPS, the COD audience will be pleased.

Lulz, there are still people praising ME2? They must have loved those awesome planet scanning moments, those linear tunnel/corridors missions, the retcon of the Protheans backstory and the "ammo" for weapons, the removal of real exploration, small hubs, the dirty dozen in space subpar story and the complete negation of the previous game scenario.

Tali was LI in ME2, you should not be so hateful on ME 2

Yep, running animation was the best in ME1. I hate the running animation in ME3, especially in the nightmare sequences where I can't use the spacebar to do the faster running animation, which still looks weird but is less annoying.mrufka_z wrote...

1. Wrex
2. Playing as an adept I actually liked that your powers recharged individually instead of all at once.
I loved how at higher levels I barely even had to use my pistol.
3. Saren (best villain in ME)
and
4. Wrex in an elevator

The story is by far the best, I loved the Mako and the exploration. Loved the characters, loved the well written antagonists.
One of my all time top 5 games, played it far more times than the following two combined.

I don't wanna be a smartass, BUT:
Did you play the "tutorial" i.e. the first mission on Eden Prime?
Crouching behind cover does not happen automatically in ME.
Try <left ctrl> and
Helps when using a sniper rifle as well, accuracy is increased.

I really get annoyed at people who point out stuff they don't like and call it a Deas Ex Machina. This is speculative Sci Fi EVERYTHING is a damn deus ex. And no one ever complained before because it didn't challenge their preconceptions.
Obviously the is a problem with nomenclatura (terminology?).
Not eveything is a DEM.
The literarily figure of DEM refers to a completely enexpected person, event, occurance that resolves a problem in a story. Originally it was used in antique greek pieces and there actually the gods intervened. Which is explainable due to the fact that in the greek mythology the gods very often influenced the life of the people directly.
Mostly the DEM appeared twice. At the first point the god(s) effected the life of the people in a specific way and so the baseplot of the story came up. And later the same god (or his antagonist) solved the problem.
Keeping in mind that someone unexpected is influencing or completely changing a story, it depends on the audience how "hard they get hit" by the DEM. In wetsren movies often the cavalry appears to save the settler from bandits/indians or whatever. This is not completely unexpected because the audience does know that the cavalry exists and somehow maybe expects their appearance.
The use of DEM in ME3 is very different. Neither there was noticable hint to the catalyst in ME3 (and the previous games) nor did someone like the catalyst did set the basic plot for all the happenings in the series.
The catalyst as a DEM really is completely unforseeable (unpredictable?) and in addition it's motives do not fit with that what people learned about his minions in the prevoius games.
The fact that Sovereign mentioned something like that the motives of the reapers would be beyond the comprehension of human beings is one example.
And now we deal with the DEM and his motives are very simple and definitly not beyond everyones comprehension.
To come back to your statement: No, not eveything in the game is a DEM and nobody had a reason to complain.
Complaning about the the incoharent use of the Catalyst as a DEM in ME3 is a complete different thing.
Cheers
Dex

Not that I didn't still like it, of course, but it was exceeded by ME2 in just about every way except for the main plot.

In terms of gameplay, voice acting, graphics, weapon diversity the series has really improved.
