Hello All,

I'm still in the midst of trying to figure this out, but thought I would come here and see what others expierences were if you pre-ordered from Best Buy.

NOTE: I'm especially curious to hear from those who had the phyisical copy of the Collectors Edition mailed to them, to see if they got the below mentioned items. Also, GameStop PC CE owners, will you remind me what items you recieved exclusively from GameStop?

As of this posting (November 3rd, 2009 - roughly 10:50am CST) the Best Buy website for the PC Collectors Edition indicates the following (and more; can be seen here):

Dragon Age: Origins Collector's Edition - Windows
SKU: 9441623
Release Date: 11/3/09
Store Pickup: Check Stores  (this suggests to me that it's not only for those who order from the website)
Format: DVD-ROM (1)

In the 2nd Paragraph of the Synopsis, the last (long) sentence reads as follows:
This exciting Collector's Edition comes complete with a variety
of bonus items, including a steel case; a bonus DVD containing a
making-of documentary, soundtrack, trailers, wallpapers, concept art
video and strategy tips; a cloth map and three pieces of exclusive
in-game content, including the Lucky Stone, which adds +1 to all stats,
the Lion's Paw, which adds to armor, dodge and evade, and the Edge, a
dagger that adds a lot to damage, melee crit and attack.



I believe, but am now unable to confirm in part, that another preorder location (GameStop? Elsewhere?) recieved at least one of these items as well. I understand that ALL preorders come with Bergen's Honor, Final Reason, and Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes - however it remains my believe that Best Buy suggests on their website that we would also recieve the above mentioned items on the webpage.

I asked when I picked up the game, as I know discussion has been going around about the pre-order codes from other retailers, and numerous employees and the most they could suggest was that maybe it was an online order only deal (which I don't believe it appears to be) or that if they had anything, it would have come in the preorder box (NOTHING came in the Best Buy preorder box, and numerous friends from all over the country confirmed this). I know we all joke about employees not knowing all this stuff, but his is I believe the largest, definitely most prominent Best Buy in Houston (the 4th largest city in the country)... I'd hoped that might help my odds a little.

I called the Best Buy service number when I got home (about an hour ago) and a gentleman helped me to the point of ultimately suggesting that it appears through the wording that the items should have come with the CE, in general, and not necessarily as a pre-order reward.

This would ultimately suggest then that Best Buy has NO pre-order loot, which is upsetting as I paid as much as other pre-order customers did, but recieved no pre-order items.

Not wanting to jump to conclusions just yet, but anxious to find out what the deal is. I'm not sure how to get directly in touch with EA (no easy task, I assume, unless I just get on their forums) to ask them, which the Best Buy service employee suggested.

Thoughts? Concerns? Who Cares?

I pre ordered in store, see nothing about Lions paw or anything else
