I suspect somebody got in rather a lot of trouble when the PR/Marketing department saw that.

They keep throwing gasoline in the fire.

Is something in the Bioware offices causing strokes to occur?

Seriously?

I think they've said that. It's like Bioware wants to break up with us, but is saying everything but that. The sad part is that an ex can live without you. Bioware will literally dissolve in a few years because of what they've done in the past couple of months.

So, Roger Ebert should STFU 'cause he doesn't make movies?

Roger Ebert won a Pulitzer prize for his writing.

I do not see any prizes for writing on Mac Walters desk.

Pure ****ing awe.

The only feeling I have when I see things like this.

Following this moron's train of thought, let's list things that we can't criticize despite obvious flaws anymore (most of us I'm assuming):
  • Beer or any sort of alcoholic beverage
  • The quality of construction in a home/apartment
  • Movies
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Electronic devices
  • Television Shows
I could continue, but the absurdity is breaking my brain. I never thought someone could be so full of themselves or think that they are somehow above obeying the basic law of economics: the customer is right. The only people who routinely break that law are con men. So I guess we know what he wants to be.

It's a lot of arrogant garbage delivered by a complete prat. He's forgetting that, if it weren't for consumers like us, he'd be (rightly) out of a job.

I'd say Roger Ebert should STFU about stuff he does not understand.. like video games. However, he does sometimes have valid opinions about movies.

This troll on the other hand should be equipped with a gag until he learns some manners. Or common business sense.

hey guys, did you know, any movie critic who's never made a movie? yeah their opinion and criticisms don't count.

you can't criticized politicians...until you run for office....

this guys logic is ridiculous.

This guy's logic does hold for some things. It's hard to discuss being in combat with somebody that's never been on a battlefield. Discussing the loss of a loved one IS difficult if you're speaking to somebody that's never had to go through that. For certain things, both people need a common point of reference. He is right for specific changes or experiences in life (ie. death of a loved one, getting married, staying married, getting divorced, raising kids, etc).

Critiquing video games (or anything else for that matter) does not fall into this category though. I don't need to write an orchestral piece of music in order to know that a piece I'm listening to is out of key. I don't need to be an accomplished writer to know that a story I'm reading is terrible. I don't need to be a structural engineer to point out that a building just fell over. In short, he's a pretentious idiot who thinks he's a lot smarter and more Important than he actually is.

This guy is pure arrogance and hubris. I'll give him the exact amount of attention he deserves.

There's a lot of that going around at BioWare. They HATE their customer. It's like they want the privilege of making games without regard for the people who buy them. Let's give them what they want, the freedom to make games without worrying about the people who buy them. How? BY NOT BUYING THEM. Then their games will exist in a pure "art" space, not in the world of commerce. We'll see how well that works out for them.

As with all BioWare staff, his opinion is his own.

I'm of the school of thought that 'if you consume a product, you are welcome to criticize and critique it'. That doesn't mean that, occasionally, you aren't going to necessarily understand something that's rather specialized - but why would you? It's not your job to know about things like production and resource costs. That's the job of the company - all you need to know is 'did I enjoy the product' and 'what parts of the game did I or did I not enjoy'.

Sorry unless you produced and published a game you aren't entitled to that opinion. Neither am I in saying I didn't like it, we're all too stupid to truly comprehend it you see because we haven't gone through the process of creating one.

How do you expect to sell to consumers if you don't listen to what they want? You can't please everyone, but how does their opinion not matter?
