Picture proof why we need to able to kick people from the game...in the middle of the game.

I maintain that a better idea would be proposing an automatic idle kick. Say, if you are completely idle for 2 minutes, the game kicks you. That may seem short, but even if you camp in cover, you will still be firing or doing SOMETHING at all times. I think having a player-controlled kick could be very easily abused. I'm already seeing many good players getting kicked for "killstealing," dying by bad luck (not bad skill), pissing someone off for not running into a horde to revive them, for using a class in an unorthodox (but effective) way, etc.

If there's a leecher I never stay past the start of the third match. I don't lose much time that way.

I have yet to encounter a leaching teamate yet, in an unholy amount of hours played.

I've ran into atleast 8 leechers...if I could punch the douche bag through my mic I would:whistle:

I must have ran into leachers AT LEAST 20 times on bronze, silver, and gold.  It makes absolutely no sense to me, because if you just enjoyed the game for the short 15 to 20 minutes it takes to play a match, you'd have a better chance of getting money anyway.

no need for an in-game vote to kick-at the end of a game the leecher with no points or almost none shouldn`t get any credits!

I created a similar thread yesterday and someone had a good idea. Why not implement an auto kick if someone hasn't killed anyone for a round or two...

A bit odd that your leecher has 0 points, they always at least get something....
Dude might not even have been connected at all

He was in one of my games last night. We all joined him and wiped in wave 3 .

An auto-kick would work great like this: At the end of each wave, if a player was completely idle for that wave, they get kicked.

A user called Deilan does this as well. He's a PC player.

I think we need a blacklist.

I am not a leecher, but allow me to play Devil's advocate.

I have defeated your plan by using a rubber band on my controller or weight on my keyboard.

So far I havent encountered any leachers in my games (X-Box 360) at all, I’ve had a few encounters with some people who didn’t move or anything for a few waves but they got into the game soon enough.

The only thing you can really do about it is just take your group of active players and leave or if you don’t want to loose your consumable things, use the leacher to your advantage as bait. Reporting or giving them or giving them a bad player review as well might work but it probably wont stop them from doing it.

I don’t support the booting in the game option at all. With these used douche bag elitists playing the game you could find your self getting booted for no good reason and loose all of your equipped consumables you had set up for that game as well.

This is what they COULD do to punish afkers and make it not worth afking:

You only get credits if in every Wave you played until the one you wiped, you did got atleast 1 point.
This means that for every wave you have to shoot, hit, cast a skill even once, to get the credits you win.
This also means that to attempt AFKing you'd have to check if a wave started and do 1 damage, assist, do something at all. AKA it becomes too bloody tedious to come back to the game every 3 mins just to hit someone, so AFKing will be a worthless time waste. Ofc some rednecks will try to do it, but that would be plain retarded.

This is...sort of a good idea.
Only because it also punishes really bad players.  I was in a bronze game (level 6 infiltrator ftw!) last night and some Krogard didn't get a point until the third wave. Then again, he shouldn't have been using a widow and a claymore and actually use charge once in a while...but anyways...this would work if it kicked in after like...wave 3 or 4.

I hope u didn't realize that he was leeching till the 10th wave :) I hate it when a leecher is at play, but sometimes u have no choice but to use him as a strategic decoy :) Or quit the match.

Agreed - sometimes leechers can be worthy decoys - easy to pick off troops converging on the motionless target.  It's the only reason to revive them.  ;)

If you quit before the first round ends, you keep your equipment. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell by the end of the first round if the player is going to afk the whole time or he had to take care of his kid or something.

Multiplayer needs to be improved overall. You should be able to report/boot AFKers in game. You should be able to mute abusive players. If a player leaves it should fill your game back up quicker. There's a lot of functionality issues that should be improved.

Oh look, more mouthbreathers who think an idle auto-kick is a stellar plan for defeating AFK leechers.

Are you people seriously incapable of understanding how it's not a solution in any way? A rubber band or a book utterly defeats it.

Ive only encountered one and that was in a silver match where this engineer sat idle for most of it. I think Bioware should do what Epic did and institute an auto kick for people that are idle. In Gears 3 if you sit idle for like 5 mins in Horde Mode the game automatically kicks you out and sends you back to the main menu

Alot of people don't realize that kicking in-game would cause a whole mess of problems aside from what people initially want it to be used for.
Sure, there have been suggestions that you could have a vote kick similar to how it is in the lobby, but the way it would would work in game is that the majority of players would end up kicking under peer pressure. For example, you see this guy who really doesn't like someone else and throws out a vote kick, well for someone who doesn't know what's going on you get worried and kick anyway or take his word for it and...kick anyway.

All there needs to be is a simple idle timer. Vote kicking can take up too much time in game, and it can also be mighty distracting.

Just quit - all three of you. I know it's aggravating to sacrifice your equipment, but it's totally worth knowing that some dirtbag is going to come back nearly half an hour later and discover that his time was wasted.

Fully agree. Going back to lobby and then starting a new game after kicking that AFK POS from prebious round is totally worth it. If that AFK POS needs credits he/she needs to get off of lazy bum and pull his/her weight...

This is a good idea, now, that will show them whos boss and hopefully will discourage leeching...but they have all the time in the world. It only takes a few moments to start up again with a new group and have a better chance of succeding.

There needs to be a solution one way or another, because 3 soul's time wasted, no matter how slight, shouldn't even be in the cards.
