IMO, if you romanced someone in ME1 and then found someone new in ME2, you should stick with your ME2 LI. It seems like the right thing to do (unless it's Jacob, of course).

I kind of felt the same way, but the thing is, you find out in ME2 that Liara was the whole reason you were still alive.  She couldn't let you go and it was her that gave your body over to Cerberus.  It wasn't like Ashley or Kaiden who barely tried to reach out to you or to find you, and then was on a mission to find out what your intentions were.  And then on top of that start distrusting you and doubting you.

Liara never forgot who you were and always held on to you in her heart.

Miranda doesn't either. Look at the pain on her face when she says goodbye to Shepard on Earth. She very much wants to tell him something but she can't.

This hurts me Bioware.

I don't really get people who hate Miranda and also those who prefer Jack, who is a less developed and has almost no progression in her personality, over Miranda. I know people who disliked Miranda so much they didn't even let her develop (loyalty mission etc) to see if she changes or not.

Wait, what? i don't even...

Jack had 'almost no progression in her personality'?

Did you even play the Grissom Academy mission?

YOU sir are a terrible person.

Unfortunately, I think way too many people took the stupid Shadow Broker dossier Easter Eggs at face value, rejected her character development up to that point, and just went with the notion that she's just some distant, promiscuous trollop.

I dunno, I feel like those dossiers were an afterthought and not really meant to be taken seriously.  Like the Illusive Man - I'm just not buying that a guy as secretive, as ILLUSIVE, as he is would sleep with ten random women a week.  Too dangerous.

Unfortunately, there are many examples of these little tidbits that BW throws in as jokes or whatever that are completely contradictory to a person's character.  They would be better left out if you ask me.  Maintaining character integrity should be more important than a cheap laugh or two.

Me too.  I love Miranda's character, and if you asked me prior to ME3 to make a list of squadmates I'd want to have in the game, she'd be in my Top 3.

Is there a video on youtube showing this reaction? I would like to see it just to know considering I have no Shepards with this set up.

Watched the clip and I felt my heart shatter. Thankfully I stayed loyal to Miranda and if I ever do another ME3 playthrough I will continue to make Miranda my one and only.

Jack has "almost no progression"?

I should go...

Also, so I don't hijack the whole thread, I would like to say that Miranda is great.  Easily one of my favorite ME characers.

Believe me, Jack progressed big. Just repulsive, uncaring, cruel... the worst. At first. By the end of ME2, she's still rough around the edges, but she learned something, and damnit, I chose her to make the bubble. I knew I could count on her. I grew to like her. And in ME3... She's right up there with Garrus as my beer buddies.

I didn't romance her, but I did see her harsh wall come crumbling down on youtube. I felt so good for her.

Good that you made the smart choice and rekindled with Liara.
lol how can you even compare Miranda to Liara? Totally different league.

That's not fair. Everyone has a different LI, and for different reasons. Personally, I love Liara. For my own reasons.

But I also understand what people see in Miranda. To be honest, if Liara wasn't in the game, Miranda would be my second option. I like that you have to crack her shell to see whats underneath, and that there IS something underneath. Her character turned out to be a lot deeper than initially expected in ME2, and they carried it over fairly well in ME3. Her character, not her romance. Her romance seemed pretty disapointing, like all the ME2 romances did. Good job, Bioware. Still, I would say she probably had the best out of the ME2 lot.

But don't try to compare the LI's. It's all a matter of personal preference. The same with real world LI's. Everyone likes someone for different reasons. We're all different, so that only makes sense.

I love Liara. But other people love Miranda, Ashley, Jack, Tali... etc. That's one of the great things about Mass Effect. So many great choices.

Personal opinion? Liara is easily the best. :) That's my personal opinion, and no one will change that. Just like someone who loves Miranda or Tali believes the same thing. Its all up to you and what you like. No one choice is really 'better', its just whatever personality, character, and appearance you like. Liara is just basically the perfect description of what I look for in a girl (personality, smarts, character, even her looks. I think she is really pretty. I'll avoid 'beautiful' so as to not be cheesy, but I do believe she is beautiful.). And this is odd to find that in a video game, but alas I did. Now if I can only find a real Liara... so far, no luck. :(

What, no option to suggest a threesome? Game totally needs more of those.

She's looking for love the only way she knows how.

That means she's probably cool with it in her butt right?

Very nice post Makrys.  I think each romance has it's own strength.  One of the strengths of Miranda's romance is that Shepard has the biggest effect on her.  Liara even said so....

What happens if you romance her in ME2, but then tell her it isn't going to work/"break up" with her after the suicide mission? Is the miranda romance flag untagged?

I'd love to romance in her in ME2 but not at the cost of seeing her cry + her dying later on in the game as a result

Well, I don't like using absolutes like 'biggest'. I think Shepard has had a profound effect on almost any of the LI's. For instance, Liara has matured greatly since ME, and it was partly because Shepard helped her break out of her shy shell. He also showed her what it meant to be in love, which is what drove Liara to the immesearable lengths she went to save Shepard. Shepard showed Liara a lot. I could go on, but thats it in a nutshell.

Jack changed A TON. If you romance her, you then see how different she is at the end of ME2. How much calmer, more at peace she is with herself.

There's numerous examples that I won't go into here, but I think its suffice to say that Shepard (paragon) has very positive effects on any of his LI's. Lets face it... he's just a swell guy. B)

Or in the off chance I was talking to Miranda, I was probably more preoccupied with her posterior.

Which is probably one of the most emotionally devastating things that a woman can learn. She cannot produce life.

That's really sad dude.

The emotional bearing it must have on her is tremendous.

Far too many people on BSN are concerned with the passing on of half their genetic material. It's pretty disturbing. What are you, reptiles?

I'm sorry, but have you even done Jack's loyalty mission and ME3 mission? If that's not personality development, I have no f*cking clue what is.

I just ignored her until after Priority: Citadel 2 and talked to her in the spectre office. She forgot all about us due to lazy writing. If she were a squad mate I would have stayed with her over Liara. And honestly, after all the "let's be friends" dialogue from Liara after all the times I'd proclaimed my love for her, I started really wishing I had rekindled with Miranda.

Question. How worth it is it to rekindle the relationship from an options view? I know she dies if you dump her (I avoided this) but is there a lot of extra dialogue on the Oriana rescue mission? Because I watched the "romance" scenes and it seems like Bioware put almost no time into her character as a ME3 LI, which is one of the main reasons I avoided it.
