Video drivers I would guess. If you Google for NWN2 Video drivers you should find some threads that explain how to get the most recent ones for your platform.

I suggest that you post some information about your platform though - OS, CPU, Memory, Video card, Video drivers, version of NWN2, etc.

Regards

looks like it could be borked xml files- the background of the character.xml seems like it's missing is the main issue i am seeing. ( not sure if there are other issues )

Make sure you've not touched the folder in program files, and rename your folder in my documents to make a new folder and see if the problem goes away. ( if you have steam you can repair your install as well )

And we'd need info on platform, OS, etc and if you've installed anything custom content wise.

Did you install Dx9.0c Redistributable from M$$ -- it's required, even w/ dx11 or whatver on win7 (they're compatible)

.NET 2/3.5 for the toolset

other than that, if your video drivers are up to date, then I agree it's the .Xml/.Tga files. The easiest way to fix this ( if so ) would be re-install. I've gotten best results by loading and playing each campaign for a few minutes before going on to install the next one. then finally Update,

I always install OC and MotB, then patch, then install SoZ and then patch again.

Good luck.

I've had no trouble installing the three in order, then patching manually from SoZ (as long as I remember to back up the MotB conversation file before SoZ deletes it!). That was with Win 7 (64 bit), with an Nvidia graphics card, installing from DVDs.

I've never used the auto-update feature though. I like to know exactly what I'm installing.

I install NWN2, MotB, SoZ, then update.  Never had a problem.

The auto-update feature is no big deal.  It works fine.  Right-click on the splash screen when the updater starts, "check" the "Save Downloaded Patch Files" box, and it will keep every file it downloades in the "temp" folder (within the game's install directory).  The first file it downloads is "nwn2_pcx2_english_from1201541_to1211549.zip".  The last file it downloads is "nwn2_pcx2_english_from1231763_to1231765.zip".

A few times I've saved all of the downloaded files and have burned them to cd for safe storage.  I seem to alternate between using the auto-updater and using the backed up files for updating.

I remember how lame it is to be forced to search for all of the files needed to download, then, be reminded one or two of the files aren't with the rest of the files on the Vault.  Do yourself a favor, use the auto-updater once and keep the copies of the downloaded files for later.

http://social.biowar...ndex/10806195/1 Found someone with similar problem, does anyone know how to get Intel HD 3000 to play nice with NWN2? People said it doesn't work with ME2 and I got that to work so why doesn't this?

It was his video drivers.

Intel video cards are not good gaming cards.

I know that, but is there a way to fix it or should I just give up? I am open to any suggestions, no matter how complex it be.

They specified they rolled back the driver to an earlier version, but the did not say which specific version.

Are you willing to consider a different graphics card?
