Except when the Reapers took the Citadel in the Reaper/Prothean War it fractured their center of government and different areas of Prothean resistance became confused and virtually separated from the rest of the empire...

So ya, unless Javik had a checklist for every Prothean, I highly doubt that he truly knows that he's the last one... I think it's just an assumption he makes.

He doesn't need a checklist, he has the memory shard and the ability of both situational and mental awerness throug touch. Plus the big reveal in ME1 where Vigil says ALL THE PROTHEANS DIED. The only reason Javik was alive was that he was put in charge of the last remnants of his people, which well...Died out. 

I'm pretty sure his Spock logic is inrefutable.

Resurgence was just that though. Many of the forums were begging for a Kroguard and Geth.

Certainly true. And I am not saying that Bioware would not react to what fans are asking for; that would be a sound strategy! I want to eventually play vorcha, myself. 

The difference is that the Resurgence rumors had the source and then supporting evidence, not just an empty claim. Although as I am researching several rumors attached to this thread, I am becoming more convinced that there may be substance here. MAY be. 

Ooo, care to share?  which rumors in particular seem to be the most promising?

I've seen the photos of the male quarian allegedly posted by a community rep, and found a thread from 21 days ago detailing four new strings found in the game files--two of which were identifiable as the maps in Resurgence, but two more that at the time had no explanation. One of which was "BioP_MPJngl "

That still doesn't mean this isn't a clever ruse, but to say so feels incredibly "tin-foil hat" paranoid.

It is just a multiplayer mode, it has almost no story connection besides from being within the same universe. If we're going to argue logic and lore, almost all of your classes and weapons should be removed.

What's more important, a fresh fun multiplayer everyone can enjoy especially with friends, or something that "respects lore and story" even though it barely has anything to do with it. It doesn't hurt the single-player or the true story of mass-effect in any way.

I can't fathom what attracts somebody who is openly hostile to consistent lore to an RPG. It's one thing to want to bend the lore, or come up with a crafty solution in order to have some fun. It's quite another to actively want to destroy the lore just to make people angry. Why play an RPG? Shouldn't you be playing Gears of War or something?

I dont understand that **** either, whether its lore or anything, I will never understand what compels ppl to stoop so low that all they have is the worst intentions for others.   

As for a Prothean MP character, I wouldnt mind that happening, but I can certainly see why other ppl wouldnt want it. At least without some sort of reason.

I truly get it, I do. Multiplayer =/= Canon.

But when I play a turian, for example, I like to think he's one of those guys fighting for palaven. When I play batarian, I imagine he's fighting because he has lost everything. When I play a geth, I imagine there's a bit of Legion in him.

What am I supposed to imagine about a prothean?

It would not affect the single player story, sure. But it would be weird. I don't think I would enjoy it. As much as I love Javik (which is a lot).

Even though I always look forward to aliens, I hope it's a new human class.
