I answered partially in the other post. And I answered the last question. More Protheans surely did, but they probably awakened tens of thousands of years ago, or ran out of energy to support their pods. Evidence being we've haven't encountered them yet.

True, but it's more interesting to me that they were some of the best and brightest prothean scientists (as I recall). That already leaves open the possibility of some outrageous technobabble culminating in some seemingly absurd yet undeniably plausible sci-fi device that allows for the otherwise impossible. I thought the only reason they ran out of power (in Javiks case) was that it had been sabotaged by indoctrinated Protheans.
