Any time you have to answer with a "probably" statement means there is uncertainty. So it is possible that there are more Protheans somewhere in the galaxy, which also means its a possibility to have Protheans in MP as long as BW writes it correctly.

Guys, this is how it's going to go down:
We'll get a post on the blog from Admiral Hackett saying that the Alliance/Turians/Asari unearthed an ancient base of Prothean warriors that Cerberus was trying to access. Allied forces rescued the Protheans in stasis and awakened them to fight once more against the Reapers.
And that'll pretty much be it. Unlock your prothean characters by buying packs.

What I am trying to say is that the chances of it happening are incredibly low. The Protheans didn't intend to go to sleep for 50,000 years in time for the next cycle, they intended to awake in the next thousand years. If they didn't awaken due to error then their pods ran out of juice and they died. If they did awaken at some point, they failed to reestablish Prothean civilization obviously. Come to think about it, I am having a hard time thinking how they would be in stasis for 50,000 years like Javik. Javik is a one and only due to accident(energy source meant to keep millions of pods alive for a thousand years or so were diverted to only keeping Javik alive).

Batarians =/= Batarian Hegemony.Wesus wrote...
Considering nearly THE whole batarian hegemony has been wiped out, rhere are your extra weapons as the batarians got plenty after what happened to them. Issue solved, money saved we can clone protheans now.
Batarians were around the galaxy, especially in Terminus Systems.
Batarian Hegemony or government were wiped out. Their civilians refugees fled to Citadel/elsewhere. Only small remnents of their fleet escaped as well. Reapers control Khar'shan and other Batarian Hegemony planets, we don't have their weapons.
Also Wesus, cloning them isn't the problem, this is:

Just FYI Cloning makes no sense at all.
Even
if Salarians can clone Protheans, (on the assumption that Mordin was
able to pluck some Prothean DNA off Javik at some point and give it to
the STG before leaving Normandy and dieing) and even if the Salarians
can clone fully mature Protheans in the matter of days and clone an army
worth of them.... the Protheans would have no idea what is going on,
they would be lost and heavily confused (not to mention angry, and
they'll take it out on anyone, not just reapers) wouldn't be loyal to
anyone, would have no knowledge of their society, culture, history or
civilization (and no, Javik can't teach them because he is with Shepard
and he himself doesn't know **** about his civilization either, he was
born at the very last thread of it), would have no knowledge of Prothean
battle tactics, no access to Prothean weapons and armors, and would not
know how to use Prothean biotics.
And to wrap it all up, well
erm, the Salarians are about to be wiped out by the Reapers just as
everyone else is. They wouldn't be wasting trillions of credits on a
Prothean cloning facility which serves no purpose or goal other than
"just cause" when they could be investing in the defense of their
PLANET.
So cloning argument ends here.
The only viable
option is finding a whole ton of them in stasis which the citadel
species, the shadow broker, Cerberus, the Collectors and the Reapers all
missed for the last few thousands of years, because erm... space magic
and whiny kids who want Prothean flavored pixels.

A very good question, but not for me to answer. I merely endorsed it as a good starting point because it cleverly draws on an overlooked point of existing lore from ME1 that hasn't been definitively concluded, rather than resorting to the tired "we found some more" cop out that a lot here seem to endorse.a ViciousFerret wrote...
What will the Prothean scientists do? Their numbers are very few and they can't establish a colony with those numbers. Assuming Prothean society isn't sexist and there are scientists of both sexes anyway.

Anyway, I kind of have to study for my gazillion of final evaluations and stuff this month, I think I've covered everything about why Protheans shouldn't be available using logic, not crying about breaking lore.
I'll check this thread later to see if anyone's said anything interesting.

But if the Protheans were spread apart one small group, say a few hundred, then they could decide the best way to fight the Reapers is to stay in stasis until the next cycle and lead the next races to fight the Reapers.

Yes, but again you are assuming that there is no Prothean society anywhere in this gigantic place we call space. If Javik could do it, and the scientists on Ilos could, who's to say others couldn't also. The Prothean empire spanned much farther than our known galaxy in ME. There could be pods somewhere on some very far and distant planet that have lasted through time, or even some protheans who came out of those pods thousands of years ago and formed some self sustaining, hidden colony. I understand that the chances or very small but there is still a chance, and it can fit the lore. Imo, its futile to say that there cannot be, with a certainty, under any circumstances, be Protheans in MP when there are so many ways that there CAN be logically and without breaking lore, which is what this discussion was originally about.

When I first read "phoenix", I thought Raloi, actually. But since Javik's DLC is called "From Ashes" and all, I guess Prothean would make more sense. Kinda a shame. I guess there could be some alive somewhere, but still ruins Javik's whole mystery and sole-survivor-revenge deal. :/
Alternatively this might not be at all true. But that's what we all thought about the last leak, so who knows?
