I really hope they redo the Male Quarian idea, it's rather boring.

Male quarians have three toes too, only the third toe is in the inside of the foot (like our big toe), rather then the outside, and unlike the other two it doesn't seem to require physical separation from the others for balace, so it rests next to the second one inside the same envelope...
Well thank you for clearing that up, yeah I only saw the two stubby toe imprints on their shoes and assumed. But yeah it looks very different from a female
I still can't understand the practical reason for why male and female quarians have "inverted feet" but hey, they are aliens, and evolution is an amazing force...

Has anyone considered the title of the DLC while trying to figure out what these 'Phoenixes' are going to be?
Resurgance pack - the Batarians are coming back to beat the Reapers six ways to Sunday, it's their 'resurgance' after being knocked out of the picture.
Rebellion pack - someone's 'rebelling' against whoever they used to serve? Add in the fact that all but two of Cerberus' units in-game are named after mythological creatures (plus the names of the three facilities in Overlord and the names of the 'hidden' Cerberus equipment in ME1), and I reckon the Pheonixes are going to be ex-Cerberus personnel.
Which means humans that might actually be worth playing! I, for one, would very much like to play as a human in better-looking armour with some neat new abilities. Humans need more love in MP, IMO.
This post needs more attention.

A very good point. Where do I sign for my Phantom?

I understand where you're coming from, but I for one hope they keep the quarian thing as it ... well, "is." You know, if it is.mrcanada wrote...
Although I like the concept of having Male Quarians, they sound extremely boring a waste of a slot. Would be better if we got a Turian Infiltrator instead and just one Male Quarian race. Vorcha are friggin awesome, always wanted them in the game and Phoenix are the Protheans. Deal with it.
I really hope they redo the Male Quarian idea, it's rather boring.
Turian sentinel is arguably the best of his class, and the turian soldier is, IMO, only behind the batarian overall, and is behind nobody if you play want to play a non close combat soldier. If you enjoy your turians (and I do), you already have two great options. Meanwhile, both quarians are completely outclassed by both their salarian and geth counterparts. To be fair, there are a few ways they could address this problem, but adding male quarians to the tech classes with new, more useful abilities is one of them.
Plus, and this might just be skewing my analysis a bit, I think male quarians are awesome looking in general.

Phoenix? This seems fake, as much as it pains me to say it.
Now that I think about it, the phoenix is an avian creature (duh), and there is an never before seen avain race already in the ME universe, the raloi.
Raloi DLC? I've alredy posted on a few threads about the possibility of a raloi squadmate. If this is legit, maybe we'll actually see the raloi in-game someday.

You know, the Pheonix is not just any mythological creature. Its most famous quality is to rise again from it's ashes even after millenia! It is the perfect name for a Cerberus project to resurrect the Protean race from genetical information found in the Mars archives before Sheparp got there.
My money is on the Pheonix being Cerberus-bred Proteans rebelling against their masters to fight the Reapers. Doesn't match lore 100%, but I could do if the DLC is both MP and some SP quests to gain the Phoenix as a war asset.
How does that sound?

I think that pretty much debunks the Raloi theory.

You just created a plausible reason for "rebellion", phoenix, and protheans, good job.

So if the "rebellion" is real, then who would rebel against who?
As others have suggested: Cerberus against Cerberus?
Protheans against Reapers?
Cows against Farmers?!?!
Oh. My. God.
Shifty-looking cow in MP!

Don't we already have, you know, human everything? Why would it be a big deal to have a new human sentinel and a new human adept? We have those things. I don't think it could be made different enough to justify using Human Sentinel B over Human Sentinel A.
Only so many abilities, you know?
The other thing that's further far-fetched would be... maybe not protheans. Maybe with the (and I am REALLY reaching here) Collector General dead, the remaining collectors are loose and uncoordinated, and maybe some member of them gained a little sentience back, rebelled, so your characters aren't protheans, they're collectors. That's a stretch and a half, and it's far more likely it's just protheans, though.

I agree with Prothean theory more. I mean, Phoenix is easily the perfect codename for them. The way the Phoenix rises from it's own ashes after it dies. Keywords being "From Ashes."

Insted of Sentinel it should be like Vorcha Pyro (Carnage, Inferno Granade, and a new power - FireBlast, just like the blast from the TechArmor).
Protheans just dont make any sense.
