Still though, the Male Quarians will be the highlight of this DLC for me. Heres hoping they add firearms for each of the added classes (I'd kill for a Quarian AR)

Imagine a Vorcha shotgun.

Already have, design of a collector rifle (with the stone-like body) with a firing noise like a crack, or the splitting of metal, and a reload that sounds like gears grinding. Higher damage, low accuracy and high kick, maybe 3 rounds per mag and around 500 damage each shot.

The phoenix could be the Raloi. The Raloi wouldn't help against the Reapers. The rebellious group, "Phoenix", could be a group of Raloi who broke off from the other Raloi.

Thats possible, and I do genuinely think I would prefer Raloi to Protheans, although I would love both.

The reapers would be well aware that they are space-faring. They would have been attacked. It's likely that some forces could have been sent to rescue them (should they have actually been attacked), and then it is likely that would join in the fight as well.

The reapers would easily know as they are essentially taking information with them as they go, if they find so much as one news channel archive, then their cover is blown, which makes all this possible.

Still though, the Male Quarians will be the highlight of this DLC for me. Heres hoping they add firearms for each of the added classes (I'd kill for a Quarian AR)

Again, you're applying SP lore to MP! Wrong! Strategically-significant-huskily wrong!

A whole new, never seen before species would be the best that could happen to MP.

No, that's not adding SP lore, that's explaining a plausible reason for them to be there. You know, just letting it out that there is legitimate reasoning to add them to MP. Keep the lore lovers happy.

Also, at the writer above me: There are actually files in the game which basically say "multiplayer map DLC Goddess", and another saying "multiplayer map DLC Jungle"

That does sound like a Vorcha-style gun

Sure, but I still imagine hardcore lorelovers to rage IF Raloi are added to MP (which is unlikely, because I think the team will add all the existing assets first - but again, I think that Kroguard actually took some time to develop)

I used to be a lore lover myself, but then I killed a strategically significant Cannibal or two and I was over it.

It would only be more like a vorcha gun if it had two glowy-trail ports on the front, and the firing noise sounded like a vorcha yelling nonsensical threats.

In other words, the Hurricane before they fixed it? No thanks. Have we not learned anything these last two months?

A bit is known about Raloi, and many people want to see them, so adding them isn't impossible

No way would they create entirely new assets just for a MP add-on. There's still male Quarian, Vorcha and Prothean assets to use. And why would they add the Raloi in now when they obviously didn't want to make assets for them(the contrived reason they came up with to exclude them in SP proves that)?

It would have to be awfully contrived. What do the Raloi offer? No fleets, no advanced tech we don't already have access to, no courage apparently. Even a full paragon Shepard would have a hard time justifying spending time and resources on them.

I have skimmed these many pages and something keeps whispering in my head that I have yet to see.

Assume for a moment the Phoenix=Prothean angle is true...No one has theorized that maybe, just maybe, TIM/Cerberus either found more buried protheans/artifacts, or maybe even cloned Javik from his 'leavings'?

Would it not be the best of both sides of the argument? Instead of adding to the already large number of player character options, they add to the enemies list. Protheans could be the mid level bosses of a new enemy type from Javik's time?

It would still take a bit of explaining, as would be expected from us on the 'lore is good' side, but still? At least there'd be a new enemy...an enemy, I remind you (Javik's coversations), that thought nothing of the join/enslave or die mentality and had many species in their ranks we have yet to see.

Hell, it could even lead to the new arc for a ME4 later on, "Mass Effect 4 Protheans Reloaded +50,0012 years, etc"

edit: grammurz

Note: a vorcha SHOTGUN. semi-automatic, but with the kick to force you to pace your shots for any mid-range effectiveness. Combine that with the Vorchas agility and hit-and-run design of low health, speedy healing, and it's perfect for a vorcha combat class. Imagine an eviscerator, but with GPS weight, 1.5x damage and a massive kick.

and suddently i'm starting to doubt about this new MP DLC, are you sure that these files are MP files? couldn't be SP for javik??

sorry but 'till I see prothean on battlefield i'm a little skeptical even if i want prothean on ME MP

Have any of the other alleged classes' powers been located though? It'd be really convenient if the only two mp powers found for any of the new races is the two SP powers that belonged to out Prothean squadmate.

I'd love to at least know the names of the Vorcha powers and the Quarian powers.

it's multiplayer powers because of the MP prefix.. there's a separate section for single-player powers & single-player powers start with the SP prefix

there's also a separate section for new DLC powers in DLC files (can't easily read those)

all MP base powers are already listed in the game in the MP powers section except for new powers in DLC packs..

any races in shipped game just draw powers from that MP powers section in Coalseced.ini file unless they're in DLC packs

powers that already exist (like Dark Channel & Slam) in the shipped game are in Coaleseced.ini file --listed as SP for single-player in single-player section, & MP for multiplayer in multiplayer section ...

this means Protheans were designed for & planned for Multiplayer introduction months before the game even shipped

So you're basically saying that the reason the only two new mp powers that have actually been found are the ones that conveniently belong to the sp Prothean character is because those powers would already be in the game and the rest are in the DLC files and thus can't be so easily located?

Suppose that makes sense... Sucks though. I really want some cconfirmation - ANY - that we're even getting new mp characters at all soon.

I can't imagine them being that tough. They'll probably have very low health and shields.

ya, new powers will be found only in DLC packs or DLC patching the Coalseced.bin file. ..already existing powers found in Coalesed.bin file

Bioware will do official announcement during or right-before E3 (the SuperBowl of gaming in 1st week of June) to get as much marketing attention as possible to a wider audience, just like Resurgence was during PAX...

but during E3, it can be easily buried among thousands of other annoucements from other gaming companies
but
they want wider exposure for marketing instead of preaching to the converted here on the forums or Mass Effect 3 gaming sites (less than 1% of the 3 million Mass Effect 3 buyers even visit the forums here since even most official pinned threads have less than 100,000 views)

it's a fine line: if they announce now, press & media might not headline it or might mention it but won't cover it again during E3 so Bioware/EA does an unofficial 'leak' to whet fans appetites while they still get coverage during E3 (but then competing against other gaming annoucements there too).

Gaming media/fans wil cover it both times but E3 is when the 'suits' at retail companies & buyers/business people pay attention..

CEOs & executives & merchandisers of Best Buy, Target, Walmart & other retailers/resellers determine what & how many copies of a title they're going to buy..

those are the eyeballs gaming companies/publishers are competing for since those are multi-million dollar deals -those retail 'suits' don't read gaming sites but they do read E3 news...hence the wait
