Apparently the title of the pack "Rebellion" makes the Phoenix classes ex-Cerberus. Yeah, I don't get it either. And I don't recall Cerberus troops in SP ever chattering about some "Phoenix squad." Not saying it didn't happen, but if someone can link a youtube of it that would at least be something material to go on.

That's pretty much a video game standard though. In games with organized militaries they always name the different squads to differentiate them. "Phoenix" squad could just be a unique name, or could mean their the 16th squad signifed by "P" being the 16th letter of the alphabet. I don't know because I'm not in Cerberus.

While the Claymore is technically a "Krogan Shotgun", it's actually human designed as mentioned in its description:

That still follows my point, the Mattock isn't of Cerberus manufacture and it doesn't follow their theme of weapons. So a "Cerberus AR" would be welcome. One that follows the same theme as the other weapons.

It's the weapon they give to the Centurians, just like the Troopers have Hornets, Nemesis have Raptors, and the Guardians have Talons. They all have the same color scheme and I'd seriously doubt any of them are specifically of Cerberus design. It's just a standard issue weapon to their soldiers.

Because they called the second asari adept a "justicar" that's why.

There just isn't enough to say it's Cerberus classes. Sure, calling it "Rebellion" makes it seem plausable, but are we even sure that's what it's actually going to be called? There's SO MUCH pointing to it being Protheans that saying it's going to be anything else just screams of Lorewunners complaining about there only being one Prothean left, despite the fact we've been told from the beginning of the series the protheans were extict and being proven otherwise twice. Retconning is a sport to Bioware, it won't be hard to explain away. I'll guarantee all these idiots who are complaining about Protheans in the MP are going to be just as excited about unlocking them when they do as everyone else.

To do a sum up..

classes and powers by Race:
Soldier: Vorcha. Exact powers are unknown, but we can expect a lot of melee based powers. I expect spike armor at the very least.
Sentinel:Vorcha. Same as above, I don't really see vorcha getting tech armor though. It is more likely they will get spike armor like the Batarians.
Engineer: Male Quarian. We know they are coming, we just don't know if their powers will be the same as female quarians.
Infiltrator: Male Quarian (see above)
Adept:Prothean. Powers are almost certainly Dark Channel and Slam, with a third power thrown in, Dark Channel being the "racial" power (like stasis is to asari). They may be the only other adept with the ability to reduce weight for assault rifles. Javiik was probably this class.
Vanguard:Prothean. Biotic Charge, Dark Channel, 'something else'. Possibly one of the better builds since they can dark channel+biotic charge for biotic explosions, and it is not restricted like stasis is to unit types without armor.

Most likely weapons:
Particle Rifle. Lets face it, Protheans in the game, particle rifles come with.
New Shotgun: The last DLC provided a specialized AR and SR, we can expect them to try and balance it out with a shotgun
Heavy Pistol:It is likely a Geth pistol will be released to finish the "Geth collection" of weapons.

Less likely:
Vorcha weapons. They don't make their own guns, living for only 20 years kinda ruins your long term development plans.
Promo weapons: It is more likely that things like the Argus, Chakram Launcher and Raider will become Ultra-rares like the Indra.

Along with the mention of vorcha in the Silencer post, Hackett also mentioned Cerberus Defectors giving them info on Banshees.

Both Vorcha will probably have a lot of Fire powers (Incinerate, Incendiary Grenades), I hope male Quarians have new abilities, and Prothean Adept will probably have Slam, Dark Channel, and Lift Grenades, whereas Prothean Vanguard will have Charge, Dark Channel and Lift Grenades.
Just my thoughts anyway.

But how does "Phoenix" translate to "Ex-Cerberus" characters? Sure, they mentioned defectors in the post, but you're just picking apart every little word. They mentioned there being "defectors" because the last event was all about killing and "capturing" Cerberus units. By your logic, they're going to introduce a map where you mercilessly slaughter Ardat-Yakshi because the post ALSO says they want to exterminate the Banshees.
