I don't know if it was posted here earlier, but I heard that the Phoenix class can actually mean Prothean, because phoenixes are born from ashes. FROM ASHES. Now check the official ME3 DLC and prepare to be mind blown.

How on Earth did no one notice this earlier? Honestly you would think someone would have realised that earlier and posted it on, say, page 2 of this thread.

To be fair, there are like 50 pages. Most people would see that number and just throw their two cents into it without checking the other comments.

You have a point. It would be nice if the OP would edit their original post to keep track on rumours.

Especially in a thread ABOUT rumors that's like 9 days old now.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if this DLC is announced tomorrow. They've dropped hints, the last DLC was announced on a Friday, and was released the next Tuesday.

Just as likely as prothean, considering canon states only one is alive. Raloi thing is a stretch, I admit, based on Phoenix=bird=avian=raloi, but prothean is also a stretch. Also, just because their government decides one thing doesn't mean there wouldn't be dissenters. Happens with salarians in SP.

Could even be a whole new race for all we know.

Not really likely at all to be Raloi. To be a multiplayer race, that would mean they have both the ability and willingness to send soldiers to the front lines. Raloi are trying to appear underdeveloped to hopefully be spared. So that would mean the Government wouldn't have any space vehicles, let alone ones for DEEP intergalactic travel. Which means for there to be Raloi soldiers on the front lines, private individuals would have to both build their own intergalactic ship AND be a skilled soldier. Seems just too fatfetched.

And we've seen that Protheans have the technology to put people into stasis for VERY long periods of time, and they've obviously tried multiple times. So the fact they've even TRIED means it's a very real possiblity that it's worked somewhere and there is a site filled with "frozen" Prothean soldiers just waiting to be woken up.

And if such a thing did happen, then it's likely that, y'know, you would have heard about it in the single player campaign. Every playable race in single player is a War Asset, because you can obtain the aid of their armies. Protheans are not. You can obtain the aid of a single Prothean. If millions were found in stasis, I think you would hear about it in single player. Not only that, but millions of Prothean soldiers and not a single civilian or scientist. And the entire galactic community allows them to become expendable special forces soldiers on the front lines, after 50,000 years in stasis. Yes, Protheans had stasis technology. Yes, millions could theoretically still be in stasis throughout the galaxy. But if that was the case, they would not all be soldiers, and they would not all be allowed on the front lines, let alone all WANT to return to the front lines. They've just been fighting Reapers. Their entire civilisation is destroyed. Javik is the avatar of Vengeance. Others might not be so obsessed with avenging their race and might want to just, y'know, start repopulating it.

So far the best evidence of the protheans' intentions are in the Flashbacks we see in From Ashes.  The whole time they're talking about "rebuilding the empire" and "rising a million strong" to fight back against the Reapers in the next cycle. That tells me that the planned for there to be pretty much EVERY member of there society to be represented. Scientists, Soldiers, ect. The Scientists would presumably go to work on the Crucible and the Soldiers would likely not waste much time getting their hands dirty against the Reapers. Why focus on "repopulation" when the galaxy is in the middle of ANOTHER galactic threat from the Reapers?

A single Prothean being removed from stasis, I'm willing to believe. A million? With no mention of it whatsoever in single player? No "Oh hey Javik, turns out you aren't actually the last of your kind. I should go." Just suddenly Protheans turning up in special forces squads without Shepard and their team ever being aware of it. It's kind of galactically significant news. If it was likely to happen, there'd have been hints other than a flashback of Javik wanting to rise a million strong. Which, by the way, involved the stasis pods on Eden Prime. The ones that were destroyed, except Javik's. They had a million on Eden Prime, and they planned to enter stasis and then lead the next cycle.

He was born hundreds of years after the war started; communication was completely shut down. The survivors on Eden Prime had no contact with any other planets. They couldn't possibly know if any other Protheans were alive, or if any others had plans to go into stasis. They simply knew that their own plan was to enter stasis and then rise up after the Reapers had left.

But other Protheans would have had the same idea to stay in stasis, and as you said, Javik would not have known

Which is why it's perfectly reasonable for there to be another site of Protheans in Stasis waiting. Javik didn't know about Ilos either, because like you said, the Empire was in shambles and most had no contact with the others. He was a Soldier, not a scientist. He wouldn't be "in the loop" when it comes to things like that. He was good at shooting things. Who's to say there weren't other planets in the Empire that had the EXACT same plan we've seen twice already?

Really, all the points you made just help the argument FOR there being Protheans in MP.

How so? Because there COULD be additional stasis pods with millions of Protheans that had the exact same malfunction to mean that they were locked indefinately until they were found? Yes, there could. There could also be an Elcor with shoulder cannons and surprising agility.  There could also be a DLC in which everything taking place after finding the beacon on Eden Prime was all a vision of things to come, and you then have to play through the events of the 3 games with teh knowledge of what will happen. That would arguably be AWESOME, but it's still unlikely.

Just because something could happen in-canon, doesn't mean that it does. There could have been a mission where you guest star in the next Blasto film to earn some extra credits. A level with hilariously bad reactions to your gunshots at actors, with your gun sounding like it did in ME1 and Blasto talking to you over the comm. That would also have been badass. And possible in canon. Actually, I might go and write that now.

Enter Commander Shepard.

"I'm Commander Shepard, and this..." Shepard brandishes his Avenger, "Is my favorite gun on the Citadel."

Please, Bioware, make this singleplayer DLC. It's far more important than the Extended Ending.

That's what all this is, SPECULATION. It's completely reasonable for those to be how Bioware explains why there are Protheans in the MP. There are also probably a dozen other ways no one has even CONSIDERED yet. You're just saying stupid things because you don't have an argument.

I should go into stasis and wait for this whole Prothean debate to end. Any Asari Adepts want to help a Vanguard out?

i'm not supporting one side over the other. personally i would enjoy just about any new class. so protheans or ex-cerbus will have a warm welcome from me. however, if you ignore the leaked information that could be completely false and go off of what has been released by bioware then ex-cerberus does sound like a distinct possibility. the vorcha is the most obvious of the new classes, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume the other classes are also mentioned in the operation silencer update. of course last time the leaked info was accurate so it really could be anything at this point

i'm not supporting one side over the other. personally i would enjoy just about any new class. so protheans or ex-cerbus will have a warm welcome from me. however, if you ignore the leaked information that could be completely false and go off of what has been released by bioware then ex-cerberus does sound like a distinct possibility. the vorcha is the most obvious of the new classes, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume the other classes are also mentioned in the operation silencer update. of course last time the leaked info was accurate so it really could be anything at this point

this. don't care one way or another but i'm leaning towards ex-cerberus since priestly's post, but its all just...

So, if Phoenix = Prothean, Bioware just needs to come up with a logical explanation for the existence of other Protheans as Javik was supposed to be the only one left. Genetic experiments? More living ones found in storage? Careless disregard of established lore just to appease player demand? Yeah, I'm sure it's not that last one.

My guess is this DLC will be officially announced sometime tomorrow! And we can put an end to all this speculation! If it is anything like the last DLC it will be announced tomorrow and come out Tuesday the 15th! I have been saving up credits so I welcome a new DLC! Got over 3.1 million to spend!
