Cerberus unit has different names, such as The Phantom, Guardian, Nemesis, Atlas, Centurion. The name "Phoenix" doesn't exactly sound out of place.

Tieing it to the Prothean is really far-fetched and lore-breaking, and the MP is indeed canon to the SP, so having multiple Protheans would be relatively well, yes- ground breaking. Ex-Cerbrus operatives would probably end up having different-code names, seeing as they're somewhat geneticly enhanced. So, naturally, they're not human, but they can use a different name. Phoenix, being just that.

Also, the name of the DLC (Rebellion) may suggest that they are Ex-Cerberus. Another thing to consider is that Phoenix comes from Greek/Roman mythology, as the name of half of their troops.

What I meant was for the one race and both are for the classes they can be, people have suggested Soldier, and if they had implemented Soldier and Infil/Engi, it would have held more weight, but still not believable, they still have Drell, Turians and Salarians, if they add in a new class for a pair of races it would take a further two more DLCS for he vanilla races to have a third class, even more for Geth / Batarians, and possibly Vorcha / "Phoniexes". I understand having one race having a character in the same class, but two from the same race? Doesn't sound right.

I think what makes it most unbelievable is that it *does* seem to be, as others stated, a checklist of the most commonly asked for additions to the game. Vorcha, protheans (or even ex-Cerberus, which has also had its fair share of supporters for reasons I don't understand), male quarians, bing bing bing. That, more than anything, leads me to believe it's not true. Resurgence didn't quite have that feel to it when the details were revealed (although to be fair, it was still a little soon for popular demands to be clear at that point).

But I'm also pretty cynical, so keep that in mind.

I'm sure they have a stockpile of models that aren't entirely finished and they pick and choose from what the community is requesting the most.

On that note, the most requested characters I've seen on these forums are the Protheans which could be the Phoenix stand-in and the Vorcha. Behind that I'd say that people have been requesting Volus Biotics and then variants of the vanilla classes.

I suspect they'll keep the pace of these mini-dlcs fairly high to keep people playing the MP while they develop larger DLC that actually build upon the framework of the game (new modes, etc). To be honest, they're going to lose alot of players fairly soon unless they introduce more content, as most dedicated players have already unlocked everything to X outside of the Black Weapons. It only took me a few days to get the new weapons to X and unlock most of the new characters.

What would be better, atleast IMO, is if they modified the game to add in some customization options beyond the aesthetics. In other words, I think the game would have alot more replayability if you could pick one your powers out of a set of three possibles, play more than one "mode" in gameplay and possibly play custom maps. These types of customization would draw attention away from the fact that most people have almost everything already.

Well, there's no other source and no corroborating evidence, so it's not particularly believable either. 

I could easily watch these forums for a week, determine what the most popular requests for DLC characters seem to be, and then start a rumor that a "reliable source" told me just what the community wants to hear.
