*Facepalm* If you had paid attention, you see that it is, in fact, BroShep with a chick's head,

That.... was a joke.

If I can pull myself away from Legend of Korra, Game of Thrones, and Diablo III (once it comes out) long enough to care, I'm sure the EC will be great ><

An added bonus would be adding all of the promotional items including the Collector Assault Rifle to the game, free. That way, we wouldn't have to get our shovels out to add everything that is there for us already and wait for them to most likely make us pay for it.

Yup, agreed.  This is my (monthly, I dunno really) check in.  Still not played ME3 since March 9th, still don't want to play any ME at all.

I've been burned once but I can't help but be hopeful. How could they think not showing how things end, at least for Companions and War Assets, on the end of a trilogy, would be a good idea. The information isn't there and if the IT is true, how could Bioware think we'd be happy without an ending at all

EC would have to be pretty special to get me to say "awesome" now. If they've truely only started now, then I doubt it will

I think Bioware just rushed it, Council, Collector Base, Rachni Queen, even Final Choice which are the "Major Choices" have little baring on the Trilogy which I find sad, as they've made space for all the possibles, then done the simiplest stock standard path. Hell when getting the Female Krogan, I ran into the "Hold the Line" guy, who only survives if you saved the party member with his team. That means he's more important then the final choice of Mass Effect 2 which makes no sense!

They've done the work, set the ground work, created a living universe, marked all the choices in the save files, even some we didn't ever notice and then in spite of ME3 being a weaker Bioware game, they had players entralled -then bam ending -no choices matter! If that was the theme "fate can't be changed, time is looped, end doesn't matter only our path through life" then I might have been fine, but I'm there to stop the Reapers, to save the characters/npcs/fleets/EARTH, Bioware themselves created and you just can't...apparently.

I'm busy playing Dragon Age 2 and on one hand I see reused locations everywhere, on the other you have far more dynamic conversations -even with NPC's which should have been in ME3 which now appears even weaker in my eyes.

It's like "they started renovating the house on fire, they will add more windows to introduce more natural lighting and also include more people to introduce you to the architecture of the house itself"

I liked both of those games. And its taken me this long to realize that the bsn's opinion has been different from my opinion since I got here in December.

So have fun wallowing in your misery, I'll be enjoying my rediscovered individuality and my true feelings for bioware, ea, and not full rpg games.

Well...have fun too, I guess. Though whenever I stumble about one of your posts I always get the following impression: "I feel so miserable because my opinions don't seem to be widely agreed upon here on the BSN"

But glad to see you seem to get over this. And something to cheer you up about individuality:

Brian: Stop following me, you are all individuals!
Crowd, in unison: Yes, we are all individuals!
Single voice: I'm not!

I feel kind of thrilled they are putting so much effort into the EC. Remember, we're not getting Walters/Hudson ending 2.0, we're getting the Entire Writing Team ending 1.0. Yes, they're stuck with the Starchild, but I feel like the ppl who wrote the rest of the game so well (for the most part) will do a lot of great things to redeem and restore as much as they can. I'm really looking forward to the EC. =]

See, this is something I want to put stock in. We're getting a collaborative effort from the entire ME writing team with the focus of providing us with clarification and closure. The Casey Hudson and the Mac Walters aren't going solo with this, again...

I dunno, I'm stuck somewhere between hopeful optimism and cautious cynicism. I want to believe I'll be satisfied with the ending once the EC enters the equation, but I've been burned once before...

Hearing that Kaidan's voice actor is currently doing voice work for ME3 (which we can only assume is for the EC) lifted my morale, somewhat (because that can only mean Ashley will get more dialogue, as well).

I guess what it all boils down to is that I'm hoping for the best and fearing for the worst.

Just because the entire team is polishing the royal turd that is the ending doesn't mean that it won't stink because it's still a well polished royal turd. I am not unreasonable, but I find any ending with the godchild/starbrat to be completely nonsensical no matter how much they try to clarify it, because the whole last 20 minutes of the game is a complete thematic deviation from the previous ~70 hours of Mass Effect. From what they said at PAX, it will be extra cinematics but "they're listening to us" as well, leaving some room that they might change some dialogue as well. Maybe:mellow:

In fact I pity the rest of the team who now have to clean up after Hudson and Walters, because those two deserve the brunt of the blame yet haven't had the balls to come clean with their audience (though being told to stay quiet by the PR department is probably the reason why).

However I have every reason to be skeptical, because I looked at the interview from PAX recorded by Gamestop on Youtube (iirc) and couldn't stand looking at Gamble's smug grinning when they were adressing *some* of the "controversy" (what a mild term) in regards to the ending. The whole Q&A with the devs was quite ironic and laughable as well, considering the most reasonable and humble looking of the whole lot present (P. Weekes) sat on one end, and his polar opposite (Gamble) sat on the other end.

I am deeply skeptical about this whole Extended Cut and any other DLC they may produce. Many of my mates have asked me what ME3 is like, they've been "hearing bad things" and I've been telling them what I and many others have felt: If you ever wanted an unsatisfying conclusion to an awesome franchise, you'll get just that in the last section of ME3. I've also said that BW is trying to adress this but from what we can judge of their PR-stunts it won't be anything substantial or something that will adress the core issues. :(

As a long time BW fan I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the EC comes out and I look at what it does - if it's crap then I have no reason to trust BW ever again. And they will have rightfully earned the reputation of a company that breaks their word. :?

Mass Effect 3 should have been the sword of RPG'ers. Not a dagger in our back. :crying:

Sadly ME3 as a RPG is inferior to many other RPGs, in fact the mechanics of the RPG-sections of the game (dialoguewheels being one) have been so dumbed down that it's not even laughable, it's worthy of tears. If they're trying to reach a broader audience then they should not take away what Mass Effect the game that it it...or rather used to be. If people wanted a straight up shooter, they'd go play BF3.
