Yep, had the update that I was not aware of, too. After freezing for a couple of matches.

It looks like the famously crappy EA server backends are messing up again. EA controls Battlefield 3 Server backends, and look how reliable those are! Bioware's servers have been a step up, but everything EA dominated has been sucking lately. "lately" as in the past few years.
The bugs in every single EA release are getting blatant and borderline game-breaking.

You might be right, and I'd support your point if you were. I haven't gotten a chance to look at the code for it so I don't know. But having studied statistics and probability I can tell you that getting streaks is a part of any random system. For instance if you are flipping a coin you expect half the flips to be heads and half to be tails. Occasionally though you will get heads 8 times in a row. If you were capable of observing all of the coin tosses all over the world you would probably observe even larger streaks than that. A truly random system does not reference previous results.

I deffinitely noticed streaks when I was unlocking things. And sometimes it sucked, as you say, and I would get several arc pistol upgrades in a row. I wouldn't say the system isn't random from my observations though.

I'm more concerned with the fact that a lot of us can't play MP because of a botched roll-out.

Others, myself included, believe in the possibility to have a highly random system with certain cards having a higher probability than others, like have your name in a drawing more than once, you stand a better chance of getting your name randomly pulled out than someone who only has their name in once.

We are all entitled to our own opinions.

And i mustthank you for bringing up the discussion...it gives something to ponder...and for those tech geeks out there...something for us to put stats to and analyze... ^-^

streaks happen for sure, however when multiple weapons are not at lvl 10 (and i also was missing some customizations for some chars at that point) then  getting multiple weapons upgraded in a row, then next one same way and next - it becomes odd. I'm just a little tired if things being misslabled and sold to us (consumers in general) to squeeze every possible drop of money the can.
I dont know why but i am less upset about the fact that i lost some money (yes, yes i know - i actually spent money on packs but i dont have time to play but want to have best weapons so it was a good investment into my fun). I did not even caught that some BW points i had were gone and product was missing since i bought a bunch in a row - but it was about 160 (?) points i think.
I just want a label that is accurate, damn it, lol - silly but yeah.

I also consider possibility of code itself being fawlty and not generating random rewards (in that case i hope its fixed)

5% error was reference to p value and obviously not my calculation    And i do know a few things about statistics after using it (not studying but actually using it) for almost 4 years now   But i do agree it would be extremely interesting to actually run some analysis on unlocks (doubt its would be easy given the fact that most players already unlocked many weapons and cant truely run stats on memory either).

we're not arguing but rather discussing and analysing it   from the looks of it the analysis is over and we can go back to "is it there yet?"
