Much truth here. Every time they try to fix a problem (last commendation pack) they end up screwing up something else. A lot of people are crying that we need to cut BW some slack because this is the first MP Mass Effect game, and at this rate it will by MY last. This isn't a charity, I paid $$ and expect a working product (connection issues and gamebreaking xbox glitches that haven't been fixed after 2 months). Too many other good games out there and too much competition to sit around and babysit this game.

From the consumer's point of view, it doesn't matter why I don't have the update, I simply do not have the update. Anybody could be to blame, and there could be many reasons why, and Bioware could be trying as hard as they can, but I still don't have the update.

Yeah, I don't know why Bioware deserves any slack here.  Massive budget, backed by one of the largest game companies on the planet.  Third game in the franchise, huge sales and now a couple of months to handle bugs. Plenty of "first" mulitplayer titles would kill for that kind of chance.

Valiant Sniper Rifle does but it's not too OP. Has weak damage compared to Black Widow but faster rate of fire, reload speed and less weight. For one shot one kill you have to get constant headshots.

Eagle Pistol...Meh. It's kind of full auto with ridiculous muzzle climb low level Phalanx.. Carnifex, Paladin & Talon are much much better pistols.

Don't have Hurricane SMG and Crusader Shotgun so can't tell how they fare...

Ok, I checked and it still doesn't work for me (I'm on a PC). Can neither host nor join, the shop shows only the three basic packs. But note that I'm one of those who redeemed the Victory Pack, so it may work for someone who didn't.

Plus, check SLYML's post, since he/she plays on ikksbawks:

Sorry if the question was asked before, i got the pack (one with bunch of consumables, not the one that [shoud] contain some N7 weapon), and now i can't join/host MP games. That is "normal", right?

I think the general consensus is that the Valient sniper rifle is very good, the Hurricane SMG is average, and the others are a waste of time. Also, many people seem to hate the Eagle pistol the most. This was my first weekend event, so I don't have any.

Well, interesting you ask after saying the MP runs fine on Xbox.

Some of the guns are good, even out of the gate - Scorpion is crazy fun.

Others like the Striker and Falcon are effectively useless, or at least far less useful, unless you host because Bioware's projectile code is so buggy that half the time you might as well be shooting blanks.

that's good to know.  i was aware that all servers were down hehe.  well as long as you can still play, i guess that is all that matters.  we'll all see the packs soon enough.

Yesterday (while I still could, sigh...) I played with my trusty Black Widow I alongside a guy who had the Valiant II.
Still managed to outscore him, even if he was close to my score and played very well.
I'm not saying that I'm super good, just that the BW is perfect for a sniper cloak cycle, while a Valiant, while very powerful and super-fast, screws it up.

I have an Eagle I that is, needless to say, great against armor but not much else at long range due to its vertical muzzle climb. Not even the Pistol Scope V makes it viable for long range.

I have also the Hurricane I. It used to be even less accurate than the Revenant, but they reduced the recoil, so it may be viable now.

As for the Crusader sniper rifle shotgun, it's ok I guess, it has its uses.

those who have unlocked their Victory Packs can't play anymore (multiplayer, of course).
And Premium Spectre Packs disappeared.

I don't have a problem with waiting for the packs like 3 weeks, I have my Valiant and I know I won't get an upgrade with my luck.
It's just kind of annoying that there always seems to be a problem with the MP.

I wish we could break video game developers of this habit of posting on Twitter. I'm not going to "follow" every employee for every dev company to get news that should be posted on THE OFFICIAL FORUMS rather than some un-affiliated website.
