Why is it that every time they do some sort of special event or release something, problems arise that delay things? Not to sound rude, but is it really that hard to maintain a video game?

we're working to unlock Victory & Commendation packs for those of you who played Operation Exorcist, but we've run into some unexpected problems

I blame PS3 owners.
:P

I blame all console peasants

Here we go. PC users thinking they're better than everyone else.

I understand it must be a bit longer of a wait, since the Sony folks had to be added in.

I'd think proper testing would have eliminated that as being a cause

Nice to see an update. I'll check back in a day or two, hopefully the problem will be solved. I expect my commendation pack to suck anyway. I rarely get anything worth getting.

Having worked on the testing/QA side of things:

YES.

HELL YES.

Seriously, YES.

Cant be a coincidence that both the packs AND the patch were borked... Does EA not care anymore? They've been doing the online thing for a decade both on PC and consoles.

Didn't you already have this problem? You'd think you guys would have ironed this out by now. Every step of the way, everything related to this dud of a game has been a complete mess.

I'll buy the testing is hard spiel for the balance patch but the packs are a weekly/biweekly thing and they keep borking them. I doubt they overhaul the pack delivery coding every week.

We have dismissed those claims."

Well hey, we chose the best and most versatile gaming platform, clearly we are therefore better than those that didn't choose it :P

I've always gotten the feeling that the multiplayer component was a half-in, half-out deal where I think they wanted to make it really huge. But, reality intervened and they had to abruptly tie up lose ends to release it as-is. Thus, it feels to me like a lot of compromises were made to fundamental aspects of the multiplayer game and the end result is widespread inconsistency and instability. One confusing aspect, to me, is the half-decentralized, half-centralized basis of multiplayer in general. I mean, one good example is the whole lost credits and lost points due to de-syncing in the store mess.

I only want my pack to celebrate my survival while glitching in the ground and in the ceiling boundaries in waves 9-11. I was actually every lucky I glitched on top of the extraction zone.

It's only free coz they f***ed up. Do you honestly think they wouldn't be charging if ME3 had gotten endings as good as ME2?

Simple answer: no

I think that's the whole point, they haven't overhauled the pack delivery coding, that's why every time it comes round to rolling them out there's an unexpected problem.   :P

I kid, I kid!  But I do honestly look forward to the day when Bioware can manage to pull off a seamless weekend Operation (and reward followup).  All parties involved deserve it at this point, in my opinion.

Hi,

I was busy this weekend and only managed to finish one gold game. During this gold game, I was disconnected in wave 3, and then rejoined around the beginning of wave 5. The game resulted in a full extraction with no further incident. Will I still get a Commendation Pack, despite disconnecting?

Meh. I'm glad you feel that way. As for me, I'm sticking to my xbox. I'm not out to start a platform war either.

Unfortunately I'm sure many will have moved on to other games by then. I don't think I've ever seen a game that had this much promise get burned by such poor execution.
