Xbox users = mostly neglected tweens ( I am on 360, but I am a grown-ass man...kinda)

I use my Xbox because my "PC" is a Mac laptop with a (small) SSD and a buttload of RAM, optimized for (and stuffed to the brim with) intensive analysis of very large statistical datasets. I can't afford to maintain both a work/school laptop and a top-of-the-line gaming desktop, so I prioritize the one that helps pay my rent.

Most of the folks on my friends list, as well as my IRL friends that own consoles, do so for similar reasons: they don't have the money/time/technical knowledge to maintain a platform they have to upgrade every few months to stay current, so they spent less money for the advantages of a low-maintenance system with stable hardware.

Console wars are stupid; the majority of online gamers are actually adults, and most are making decisions as rational consumers with limited resources. Please don't insult me and everyone in my gaming community based on your weirdly self-denigrating stereotypes.

A couple of silly myths in that statement.

#1.  You dont need to upgrade your PC more than maybe every 3-5 years depending on what you use it for.

#2. I personally use my PC for both work and gaming. the last upgrade i did 2 years ago, set me back less than a new PS3 or X360 with 2-3 years gold membership. (410€ + change) and i dont have a need to upgrade this PC till early 2014/late 2014.

#3. You dont need to be an IT swami to be able to make your own PC rig.

#4. games on consoles cost alot more, so what you end up saving by buying a console, will catch up to you fast(depending on how many games you buy). For example here in finland, a new standard edition retail of ME3 for PC at its cheapest without sale is 24,99€. while the console versions are still at 42€ for the 360 and 48,99 for the PS3. Say you buy 4-5 games a year. thats 17-24 € per game you save. so its anything between 68€-120€ a year you save just in games, then your gold membership if your using 360. doesnt take a genius that once you play on PC the costs come down to the same level easily, even if you upgrade every 3-5 years like i do.

In the end. I end up spending the same amount of money on a PC with good peripherals and good quality components, but what matters most, i know what is what and i have more freedom over the product i have :)
I ended giving up on the consoles 5 years ago completely, after i saw how much money i would still end up sinking into them.

I am not saying consoles are worthless, just saying, if your really making a decision as a consumer, PC is still the most flexible and cost effective platform, and gaming rigs these days, pretty much fit for work too, especially for me, who has to handle large architect and HVAC drawings made with various CAD programs and stress simulations.

My usual workload on the PC when doing my work(random odd jobs for different design companies, so it kinda allows me to do this at home) I got a window open for AutoCAD, 2 windows open for MagiCAD and one for MagiCAD 3D(need this mainly for the balancing and bill of materials but meh), window open for Solidworks or other stress sim, that the client wants to be used, then an online directory program for the various manufacturers for the parts, usually needs 2-3 windows.

And when my work is done, i just save, and switch to gaming :)

After seeing how BioWare treats its customers who are experiencing problems I have reason to be cross with them.

Two months and no resolution or word from BioWare.   Absolute BS.

Last night I stalked up on Premium packs in case they went away. I think I had about 15 medi-gels. Today I sign on and only have 3 medi-gels.

Anyone else have this problem?

I understand it must be a bit longer of a wait, since the Sony folks had to be added in.

I'd think proper testing would have eliminated that as being a cause

Not necessarily, this means they have more data to wade through.  Perhaps they're taking precautions, to keep people from exploiting a dupe bug or something.

I did not mean to blame Sony players for causing the delay, I wanted to express my patience and understanding.  PS3 users were added (accepted, really) at the last second.  That's a considerable jump in the number of players who's data needs to be scoured, even if by machines.

I don't think testing could have fully prepared Bioware for this, but with experience this SHOULD become less of a problem.

yes we all also have to remember that... this is the very first Mass Effect Title that has a MP... we judging them like we would CoD... this isn't CoD... BioWare hasn't put out many MP Games... they don't have alot of experience but as time goes by they will get better at fixing things fast

Even more so since the PS3 is a poorly designed system, akin to the Jaguar.

Though, the PS3 actually has some decent games, moreso than the 360 (ME is awful on the PS3 though, PC all the way).

CoD Multiplayer is still crap :D

nah, but i agree with you. Mass effect's mp is very fun and very impresive coming from a usualy single player studio so cut them some slack i say.

For a 1st MP for ME i think they DID FANTASIC... we just have to give them some time to work out all the bugs

Got the victory pack, got jack squat in it, then couldn't join any games for longer than 30 seconds, nor could I purchase ANYTHING from the store. You're breaking my b@ll5 gentlemen.

- Edit:

Might also want your customer support know what's up. They had me clearing my browser cache to fix this... Thats right, my browser cache. I face palmed so hard I think God felt it.

Hey everyone!

Just a quick update to let you know that we're working to unlock Victory & Commendation packs for those of you who played Operation Exorcist, but we've run into some unexpected problems. We're working on it and will announce when  those packs become available for everyone. Thanks again for your support.

Looking forward to playing with more of you guys in future weekend operations!

I should go. :wizard:

@ roughly 1pm'ish PST. I was like "Oh sweet!", then I went to see if the commendation pack had come in, but all I saw was the Special Spectre pack, was like... "Okay, maybe I just have to wait a while..", well, in that while is when the Special Spectre pack dissappeared, and so did my ability to play online or purchase anything.

holy ****, i fell out of my chair when i read your edit.  yes, they did the same thing to me as well back when they first released the PSP.

the amusing part was i told my rep i had the PS3 version, and he tries to tell me how to clear my XBox360's cache data.

wait...  what?
