Got the victory pack, got jack squat in it, then couldn't join any games for longer than 30 seconds, nor could I purchase ANYTHING from the store. You're breaking my b@ll5 gentlemen.

- Edit:

Might also want your customer support know what's up. They had me clearing my browser cache to fix this... Thats right, my browser cache. I face palmed so hard I think God felt it.

holy ****, i fell out of my chair when i read your edit.  yes, they did the same thing to me as well back when they first released the PSP.

the amusing part was i told my rep i had the PS3 version, and he tries to tell me how to clear my XBox360's cache data.

wait...  what?

EA advisors are fools! One tried telling me stuff about the PC version when I clearly stated Im on 360 then linked me on to a wikia for "How to save Xbox 360 games"! I swear I have saved 100's of games before!

BioWare ****ed up the update and (as usual) is refusing to acknowledge that they screwed up in hopes that the problem will magically go away.  If it's anything like the "black screen of death" then I may as well trade in my game as the problem will never be fixed.

Then do it, nobody is stopping. you. Every game has its problems, and the community would be better off without people that **** about the game more than they play it. If you hate the damn game SO much, then get rid of it.

Do the people working EA Customer Service actually know who employs them and what their job is?  I have not met one single person who's had helpful and useful advice from them.  To say nothing of relevant.

Honestly, they probably don't. They're probably working in some call center in India where they handle calls / chat requests for 7 or 8 other clients as well.

The packs aren't working and the server is crashing? It must be Tuesday!

..but seriously, Bioware, this neverending stream of mistakes you keep making every time multiplayer is updated or anything new is released is getting old. You're making Bethesda's pre-release bug fixing look professional, and that's...well, honestly, that's just sad.

Would these "unexpected problems" include those of us who installed the patch, claimed our packs and bought premium specter packs being unable to play the MP at all what so ever no matter what we do or try or scream

Thanks for the update. Was wondering why my friend didn't get his pack and I suddenly lost the connection to EA halfway through a game. >_>

On a side note - and call me crazy - but has anyone noticed a change in MP difficulty since the server problem began? Friend and I were on bronze and it started acting like it was silver. At first I thought we were just off our game, but we both noticed the difficulty spike and it was pretty consistent. Normal Cerberus troops suddenly mopped the floor with us. O_O Did I miss an announcement on that or something...?

On my last match I did notice a ****ton more phantoms on the extraction wave on gold then I remember. Must have seen like 6-8 spawn right in front of me.

Glad we weren't the only ones getting things like that then. A welcome challenge, but oddly placed. Makes me terrified to go on Gold right now. XD Will check again once the servers are running properly to see if Cerberus is still pwnsome or if they're target practice again. Thanks!

I suspect what happend is that to prevent players from getting more than one victory pack, they planned to execue a chown 0444 (read only) on /playerid/exorcist_victory_pack.flagfile. But something went wrong and they chowned the entire /playerid folder to 0444

So no temporary files can be written during gameplay, causing a timeout after the end of a wave. No items can be bought from the store, and changes (skill point assignments, weapons etc.) to characters don't get saved.

Is it okay to bet that every Tuesday Bioware will screw up handing out commendation packs?

We're mainly upset since anytime they try to do anything, even routine things like update award packs, it goes horribly, horribly wrong. I mean, they had specifically taken time off from weekend events to fix issues with award packs, so there isn't much justification for screwing them up again, unless they lied to us and actually spent that tinme working on other things, which is bad in and of itself.

Overall, this whole situation just demonstrates that there isn't sufficient testing or preparation for these changes and updates, and when a game operates worse after an update than it does beforehand, it tends to make fans angry.

Would not be surprised that this was an Origin issue...if game was on Steam, everyone would have already had their packs by now. Just saying...

I can understand that it might be difficult to give the fans an immediate, as-it-happens play-by-play of the process of trying to fix the mess they created, but how hard is it to say "We estimate X hours until the game is working again, please come back later".

i understand that but we can try to keep supporting them... think of it from their side, would you rush amnything for a bunch of people who just keep putting you down and saying you don't know anything about what you're doing... just try to think of all the stress they are under already just having these problems as is.

1st impressions are lasting impressions. There's a reason people keep saying things like " of coruse there's a problem right after a weekend event ends".

Dear BW. i have a solution to the issue. Instead of telling people that they will receive their packs on Tuesday, tell them they will have them by Friday. When the delay inevitably occurs at least people will be less outraged.

For this advice I will only require a Black Widow.
That is all.
