@ JECW Well, I wouldn't go that far. lol I give BioWare props for creating Thane in the first place (as well as many other lovable characters). Sadly, many great BioWare writers have left the company including Thane's original writer. I really think Chris L'Etoile's departure had a negative effect on how Thane's character was handled. Whoever took up the mantle in ME3, whether it was one person or a group effort, did not have the same understanding or passion for the character. That much is clear.
It's just unfortunate that BioWare did what they did to Thane in ME3 and that they continue to ignore us Thane fans despite our efforts. As far as I know, Patrick Weekes has been the only writer to speak about Thane and he didn't even write the character. I know that many fans just want their efforts to be acknowledged and that's understandable. It seems like favoritism at times the way Devs will acknowledge one group and snub another. Not a good way to foster good will and it leaves the snubbed fans feeling alienated.
That's pretty much what happened in ME3. People who romanced ME2 characters were alienated by the company playing favorites. The ME characters plus Tali and Garrus were treated as the main course and the ME2 characters were treated like the scraps that got left over. Not a good thing.
I'm just so disappointed and sad. It's been a little over two months and it still bothers me. I don't blame anyone here for being frustrated or angry. I feel that way myself. I just hope we can try to keep a positive outlook and keep fighting. BioWare can try to ignore us but we won't let them. We will flood their office with Thane support (the fanbook, the poster, the plushie!) and make sure they don't forget him again.
HOLD THE DRELL!
