9 sets of logfiles now recieved.  Only need 3 more.

I will keep this post updated to reflect the number of logfiles received. I have to say I'm quite pleased with the quick follow-up from everyone. That will ensure that we keep the goodwill momentum up for the players to be able to reward them quickly.

The suspense builds....who will win? Who will lose? Who will completely forget to redeem a prize?

[EDIT: Updated files received]

First of all, thanks again for organizing the event!

We used a custom script for keeping track of NWPAD checkins, so I've cut down the log for you with just dates, login and key.

Fetch it here:

https://dl.dropbox.c...ad_checkins.txt

If you want the full logs for verification at later, I can always pass that on too (but rather large amount of data).

Just a suggestion for an Idea. Maybe you should do it? Seems like you have a touch for organizing community.

Again, this may be a splendid notion as myself and others have stated, but it should be in its own thread. As for me, my dance card is full - I only have enough time/energy to work on getting neverwinterconnections.com back in its new form and (rarely these days) for working on my own growing PW: ArgentumRegio.

Since you started the notion, the idea and the onus to follow up on this I leave to you. I'll most certainly watch and offer support as may be able from time to time, but this is your idea and I cannot take up the mantle. Thanks but I must decline.

Please do pursue this; in a separate thread (so as not to further delete the relevancy of posts in this thread).

Best wishes to you on your projects!

Cheers, I love your module! It's like what, 1,200 areas in size? Looks awesome, just wanted to point that out to you, the area design is great.

Just thought I'd suggest you to do it, as you are an experienced programmer, and web-site designer, as well as a veteran of NWN 1. I won't clog this thread up anymore then I have too.

Cheers, GM_ODA! =]

I re-sent to ACD just for good measure, but I believe BtB was going to forward the logs that he recieved on to ACD just for a second set of eyes on them. Correct me if I am wrong please BtB.

P.S. I am, and I think many others are anxiously awaiting the results. I personally am hoping they can be released with in one week of the end of the event, but rather see it released right, than rushed and inaccurate.

Ideally the individual owners would re-send to ACD (just forward the message you sent to me) so that we have 2 completely independant records of the logfiles. ACD will be doing the number crunching and mine will just serve as a second set for verification.

I agree that a week is a good 'target' (technically, that would be Wednesday), but we may need a little longer given that we're still looking for 3 worlds to provide their logs. I sent reminder messages to those contacts earlier today.

Believe me, we want to finish stong here and not lose any momentum, so I'm as anxious as anyone to complete this anlysis.

i'm also anxious to see the final results.  right now i only have logs from 5 worlds (oh, i guess 6 including mine).  i don't care if BtB forwards the ones he has to me.  i trust that he's not tampering with them.

as BtB mentioned, hopefully PW admins won't lose momentum at this stage and not follow through by forwarding logs.  we may have to consider setting a cut off date for accepting logs.  it would be a shame if we have to disqualify entries from some PWs for not sending logs.

I forwarded all the files I have to ACD. Still waiting for the final 3 worlds' logfiles.

For expediency's sake, would anyone be opposed to a cutoff of Friday, July 13 (10 days after the close of the event). Any logs not counted by then would be considered void. And, those worlds would subsequently be ineligibile from receiving the cross-world prizes (NWN dowload code).

Of course, those worlds could still honor in-game prizes to any winners that wanted to redeem there.

That way, we can hopefully provide winners by no later than Monday, 7/16. Sound good?

I would not be opposed to the cut off date being a week from the end of the event (which would be tomorrow), but whatever you guys think is best.  I think it is quite likely that those who haven't submitted their logs yet (or even responded to you BtB) aren't going to. Kinda sad they don't even have the courtesy to withdraw from the event, and are holding everybody else up...

I tried to email my data to you acomputerdood, but it bounced... perhaps I got the email addy wrong though, I'm not certain. Maybe you'd be kind enough to send me a PM with your email addy spelled out the right way so I can't bungle it this time?

Many thanks.

Was wondering - is there a central place we should announce the rewards we give if people choose to claim it at our PW?

The reward we are planning to give out was letting the winner have a DM event where he/she could choose the DM to run it and the theme.

No central place for in-game prizes, though I'm happy to post it on www.nwpad.weebly.com. I think AV3 has posted its in-game awards as well. I can add Arenthyor's, too. If others would like to submit what their own prizes are, I'll add those.

We'll call the event finished after today. Any logs not received after today are void for the World Walker Challenge.

We'll announce the login names of the winners early next week. Participating servers should update their forums/in-game signs with this information as well as how to get in-touch with your staff to claim either the cross-world prize (NWN Download) or the in-game prize from your server.

As a reminder, if a player say's he's a winner, you need to get his login name (which should match the winning login) as well as the cd key info and a personal e-mail address. Send those to me. If the player supplied info matches the winning info, we have a winner and I'll send out the code via the supplied e-mail address. If the player redeems for an in-game prize from your server, let me know that as well so we can track the distribution of 1 in-game prize per winner.

Thanks and let me know if there are questions.

Is there 'boilerplate' instructions to post for the players to get their prizes by any chance? Something I could copy/paste?

Thanks in advance.

Well this is what we have posted on the NWPAD sign in the loading area of our server

For Aventia 3 Merged (Av3) local prizes we offered 10mil xp and 12 QP for first place local winner, 9 mil xp and 11 QP for the second place winner, 8 mil xp and 10 QP for the third place winner, 7 mil xp and 9 QP for the 4th place winner, 6 mil and 8 QP for the 5th place winner, 5 mil and 7 QP for the 6th place winner, 4 mil xp and 6 QP for the 7th place local winner, 3 mil xp and 5 QP for the 8th place local winner, 2 mil and 4 QP for the 9th place local winner, 1 mil xp and 3 QP for the 10th place local winner. Our local winners were:

Local player names listed here...

CG guys, and ty to everyone who participated.

For global winners, we are offering 20 mil xp (which equates to about a free lvl 200 toon on Av3) and 24 QP if the global winner chooses to redeem on Av3. 18 mil xp and 22 QP for the 2nd place global winner, 16 mil xp and 20 QP for the 3rd place global winner, 14 mil xp and 18 QP for the 4th place global winner, 12 mil xp and 16 QP for the 5th place global winner, 10 mil xp and 14 QP for the 6th place global winner, 8 mil xp and 12 QP for the 7th place global winner, 6 mil XP and 10 QP for the 8th place global winner, 4 mil x pans 8 QP for the 9th place global winner, 3 mil xp and 6 QP for the 10th place global winner.

Once the results from all the participating servers have been tallied, the winners will be posted on the NWPAD forums (and I will likely post the names here.) If one of the global winners wants to redeem their server prize here (and the NWN 1 diamond download code from gog.com) they must notify me by e-mail (lazarusmagni@live.com) or in game, and I will forward this info on to the event coordinator. After recieving confirmation I will award you accordingly for our reward in game reward, and BtB will send you the download code via e-mail.

Cheers,
Lazarus Magni

Obviously for your own server the rewards offered will be different, but particularially the last paragraph might be cut an pastable. BtB has also explained this a few places...

As an update, ACD and I are finalizing the list of winners and will release it either later today or tomorrow! Stay tuned and let your players know to look to www.nwpad.weebly.com for their names!

We'll post the logins there and here for you to use to update your in-game signs/forums.

As some early results preview without spoiling anything:
  • Great Participation: Over 210 people participated in the world walker challenge across the 9 worlds
  • Frequent Participation: With 16 days of the event, the average number of check-ins per participant was 12!
  • Competitive Participation: There were another 10 participants within 3 check-ins of making the winner's list (...and subsequently completely wrecking our prizing structure, but we could've handled that)
Thanks to ACD for his number-crunching prowess in record time!

And the winners of the 2012 Neverwinter Nights Player Appreciation Days World Walker Challenge are:

wait for it....

*Unsealing the envelope*

*Dramatic pause for effect*

Grand World Walker Champion: Nappi99
World Walker Explorer: gelmar
World Walker Scout: Lyme_gg
World Walker Scout: Black Crowe
World Walker Adventurer: Ramir Thel
World Walker Adventurer: ZenBlade
World Walker Adventurer: Deege
World Walker Adventurer: I await You in the End
World Walker Traveler: Ramana Jala
World Walker Traveler: Rayven Nightkind
World Walker Traveler: Masterwalker
Each line is one winner.  As you see, there are 11 winners because we had ties for various spots (2-way tie for 3rd/4th place, 4-way tie for 5-8th spot and 3-way tie for 9-10th spot.  Pursuant to the official rules, we sought to rank the final three into highest number of average worlds visited, but that again yielded a tie.  Thus, all three are winners.
If we run into issues with handing out codes, I will reserve one of the codes that was previously designated for a PW and give it to the player.

Please post these logins in-game with congratuations from the NWPAD team.  To redeem for a free download code of NWN Diamond, players must make contact with one of your staff.  Your staff must then verify the CD key associated with the winning login.  Then get their e-mail address.  Send their login name, their CD Key info, and their e-mail to me for verification.  I will send out the DL code or get back to you if there's an issue.

If a winning player decides to redeem for an in-game prize in your world, let me know that as well.  I will provide you with your own DL code that you can keep or distribute to your own playerbase in your own player appreciation/recruiting events.

Congrats to these winners.  Congrats to NWN for 10 years of excellence.  Congrats to all the people who made this event possible - those who's worlds participated (Admins and DMs), those who contributed their voices here to make this event better than I imagined it, and those who helped make it happen (especially ACD).  And, thanks to GOG.com for supporting the NWN community.

[EDIT:  nwpad.weebly.com has been updated with the winning info.  You can direct your players there.]
