With all the graphic card naming conventions for NVidia & Ati, I can't help but wonder if the card I go and and buy to attempt to run this game will work.
I am running a PC I built probably 6 years ago.
A 3.4Ghz Intel Processor with 2 cores (Intels first attempt at 64 bit) Socket 478,
2 Gigs Ram 400 DDR maybe
Asus Radeon 9800 XT All in Wonder 256 MB Graphic Card (obsolete, bummer)
2 500 Gig Serial Raid HD setup
My mother board does not have PCI Express but has an AGP slot.
Are there any AGP Graphic Cards out there that would run this game?
Thanks for any help!
Any Supported AGP Cards?

Is that 3.4 ghz a Pentium 4? If so, there may be more to worry about than just the video card when it comes to getting this game playable

See how the character creator works, then go from there. Not an excellent test, but it'll give you a ballpark.

Thanks for the Graphic Card Tip. In the intsall and configuration the program did not seem to mention any problems with the processor (it probably is PIII or P4 I forget and don't have my PC in front of me).
I just get the did not detect supported graphic card error.
Hopefully I can get a card from a place that would accept a return.

Buy a Radeon 4670 AGP I believe its the fastest AGP graphics card you can buy.

OF the various partners that AMD / ATI works with to produce the Radeon AGP cards, Powercolor is not highly regarded. The overall difference between an HD 3850 and an HD 4670 is not large, although there is one respect in which the older card still stands atop all AGP offerings, and that's maximum screen resolution capability, because of its superior memory bandwidth.
The HD 3850 was a high end video card, with high current demands, which put it in another class at a still higher cost, because a power supply upgrade must be made at the same time. The HD 4670 offers very good performance while running with most branded PCs' stock power supplies.
Newegg has had a special on the next less powerful AGP card, the HD 4650, in its PCIe version, for $35 after rebate. I haven't seen any price below about $70 for an equivalent AGP card in months now.
P. S. If the question about AGP does come up again, the partners that AMD has who are still selling the HD 4650 have mostly stopped selling the "good" ones in favor of a much cheapened version that only has the DDR2 ram on it, so stick with HD 4670s, which are available with both kinds of RAM (and be advised that in the time that has passed since this comment of mine was written, the HD 3850 is now out of production).

I have a question. Is there or will there be a noticeable difference if the AGP card in question is a DDR2 as opposed to a DDR3? I'd prefer to get a DDR2 HD card, since they tend to be cheaper. However, the CompUSA near me is selling a DDR3 card for a special lower price right now.

Look at these two, one a year newer than the other, and the newer one with the older VRAM technology.

The HD 4650 is about $75 at Newegg, although I like the HD 4670 better, and it has the GDDR3, for another $20 more.

Fast2000, I have an ATI Radeon HD 4670 8x AGP DDR3 1gb Ram video card. It works like a charm. Please see my old system spec that I am using to run the game. Link is below. I recommend this card, and if you decide to go with it, make sure your power supply watt rating is at least 450 watts with good voltage and amperage ratings. Other people that are experts with power supplies could probably better explain that. I am no expert there.
