Mine looks like me and makes the choices I'd make.

Despite how awesome the character is and how I make the decisions I would personally make,
I just direct him(her). Lol, if I was actually Shepard I would most likely be suffering from PTSD by now...

When making choices, I think of what my Shepard would do. It's probably like how an author regards a character he created.

I lean more towards "I am Shepard". I don't really have multiple different playthroughs, I try to choose paths and answers that I personally agree with. Its kind of interesting seeing how my own personal morals scale up when I have to apply them to situations that I would never encounter. Questions like "should I cure the genophage", for example.

My first and only Shepard is me from ME1 import ... I made 3 more in ME2 using Genesis DLC ... those are Shepard are other characters based on my friends

I'm a guy, my sheps female, so no. I just like the idea of a strong female lead, in fact some of my favorite books have had a strong female lead (For example the Wind Singers Kestrel, arguably Eragons Saphira can be considered a lead) and those books have lead to some of the strongest emotional attachments for me.
That and for me Hale > Meer

Shepard is nothing but a story telling device to me

My Shepard would react, the same way I would react in that situation.

This - I love my manshep but if there were ever to be a "canon" Shep I would want it to be femshep, showing all the burly space marines how it's done.
When Eve congratulated me on not letting men push me around I was like

Depends. Male Shep with my name is me. Femshep with a different identity I'm just playing as.

No matter how hard I would try I cant push myself to imagine I am a guy who is on the quest to save the galaxy and does all those things that Shepard does in Mass Effect. I would have to be really under influence of some strong substance to be able to do that and I am not into drugs so no way. I am a nerdy guy with a relatively boring work and bills to pay. And now I would need to look at myself as a human spectre, a biotic and a prodigy of the galaxy? Please. Therefore I enjoy Mass Effect in same way I enjoy a good movie. Shepard is a character who has nothing to do with me. I can merely guide Shep but all decissions in game world are his decissions, not mine.
