i picked up a random pair on Saturday night for a gold (unknown map / Cerberus / gold). they asked me about my builds (which i can certainly understand), asked me what i was going to play (19 geth engineer).Badpanzer wrote...
I will play with anyone on gold...I warn really low guys just in case they are there by mistake(usually are)but Im not fussed otherwise.
It makes for some short games sometimes but it can be fun and its great when you can pull it off in the end.
As an engineer I played the reactor on gold with 3xInfiltrators and we made it...which I did not think we would.
Weird teams are fun and a good way to learn.
You need to host your own game if you want the perfect team.
we gave the lowbies about 30 seconds after our warnings to equip better weapons.
the fact of the matter is, spending the time to empty a full magazine into an enemy on a gold will get you killed!!!
as i've said before - i have nothing against low level characters. i happen to agree with the OP that given an (unknown / unknown / gold) situation, certain team builds are a prepared approach to making sure everyone survives. as he said - he won't automatically drop from a gold game with nothing but low level characters; it's low level weapons he drops from.
But, weapons hardly matter if you're playing a biotic. Sure, it's nice to have carnifex V or better, but it's definitely not necessary. The only time weapons really matter for people setting up biotic explosions is against humans because of phantoms. And that's only assuming you don't have an AA stasising them.
If you're running an AJ / DA + HS / AA + (maybe) HV , does it really matter what weapons the first two are using? I mean, as long as they're at or close to 200%.
