I don't know where I can really request that odd thing but I really adore crying Liara. She always had that disturbed anxious expression on her face, in all 3 games so I decided to create a collection of pictures of crying baby-Liara.
But taking screenshots of her crying only sometimes is not quite enough for me. And I don't really want to replay all 3 games to look for those moments as it would take a lot of time. So what I want is any other way if there is any, to replace her facial texture or just add those tears that sometimes appear in game.
Is there any way to make her always look crying, tear shedding? I never really modded textures in ME, so can anyone at least give me a clue where to look and what to start from? Like any tool or something like this. I wanna do it for all 3 games, so if you have any idea how to edit her face in all of them, please let me know.
Hope you guys get it and help me out with my oddity lol.

That is... honestly quite funny. How large is your collection of her crying?
Anyways, never done this myself but here's some help, maybe.
---
Get Texmod
---

- Open Texmod
- Click on the folder icon and look masseffect.exe
- Click on "logging mode"
- Set: Output format, Log with (key to catch textures) and output folder.
- Click "Run"
- Loads a "save game" and leave the screen item or weapon you want to change
- using the keys "+" or "-" looking texture (type must be a natural full colors)
- press the key on to you set up to catch the textures (in my case "Enter")
- Exit the game and go to the folder where you save selected (output folder)
- In my case I use the jpg format
- you have your texture file to edit.
- Once you've edited the texture, go to "texmod" in the section "package build" open the "Definition file" (. Log). It must contain the code that you have edited the texture and path where it is. This file is generated automatically to capture textures "in game".

Thank you a lot for this, at least I could dig in a bit to see what is what. I managed to find her texture in ME3 and ME2 but it was just a texture, no tears.
I guess that Bioware created that effect some other way. As we know she only cries in cutscences and never while just standing or running around. Which means that probably they just added some trigger that applied that small texture of tears to her face. And to make them permanent some changes to the code have to be done. And there's probably no other way to deal with it.

What I'm going to do know is replaying it all over again, romancing her and hunting every second she sheds a tear. And I'll draw it too, I'm not an artist, not at all, but at least I can do something like this.

Just in case, if you find out or come up to some way to make what I described, please don't hesitate and let me know.

I think the tears themselves are an independent normal map (typically used for shiny surfaces) if you can log them using the print screen key because normal maps won't always log with TexMod :P then you can merge it into her face normal map and you should have tears all the time. I think it should be doable. But I'm just guessing because i haven't gotten to that point in the game where I can try to log them.

Also if they are not normal maps and instead regular textures you can do the same thing just using her face texture.

What exactly do you mean by logging normal maps by using print screen key? Does TextMod do this? Or there is something else?

Haha sorry, let me explain. You need to manually print the screen with the print screen key on the keyboard, then open up image software and paste, then crop it to the correct dimension 256x256, 512x512, what ever it is. Then name it to the name that appears in the texmod.log when you logged the texture with enter. TexMod is a pain with normal maps it won't log the file most of the time if it's a normal map but it always logs the name. So here's what to do in order to capture normal maps:

1 Find the texture with + and - keys
2 Hit enter
3 Hit print screen key on the keyboard
4 Alt-tab out of the game and paste the screen cap into editing software
5 Crop to the proper size
6 Rename to the name found in the TexMod.log

If your lucky TexMod may log the normal map but for me it refused to log normal maps of faces armors and clothing. But for some reason I could log small normal maps like the Hanar normal map.
I hope this helps and good luck.

Nope, unfortunately. I drawed some pictures of her crying and made couple more screens while going through all 3 games for the 4th time. Here's one great screenshot of her sad depressed face.
