That game is famous for bad performance, hl2.exe crashes, loadout being unavailable, updates breaking the game for days on end... and still persists, because the gameplay is good. Not being able to play for a day or two is insignificant in the long run. Read a book, breathe some fresh air, relax.
Or... quit, it's your time. But really, don't bother doomsaying. You don't have a case.

Is this your first multiplayer game? I'm astounded, yes astounded by people who keep posting threads like yours. It's not like any game ships without bugs, glitches and annoyances. It's normal, every game does it. Don't get me wrong; I'm annoyed by certain things in this game as well, especially the lack of modding. But that doesn't mean the game is "NEVER GOING TO RECOVER" within it's first two months of release.
Get over youself, have fun with Future Soldier. I'll be playing Diablo III and jumping back into action with my Vanguard once in a while. Don't play *one* game, you'll always be an angry gamer if you do.
Astounded eh? This game has more bugs than an ant farm and has been out almost 2 months. Other games yes have bugs but are addressed quickly. I'd like to play this game without constant freezing, or stupid bugs in MP. BW dropped the ball and needs to recovery quickly.

Just curious, RANDOMvGRENADE, what is your idea of the perfect game?
So because I'm not happy with the state of this game, I must be an elitist who will only play the perfect game? Lets take it easy on the hyperbole guys. Nobody is expecting perfection. Just make it work right if you want to keep people playing for more than 6 months total.

Hmm... Don't you guys think that RANDOMvGRENADE is actually a troll? That's what he looks like from my point of view at least. Lets just let this thread die guys.
Troll (Widipedia Definition)
In Internet slang, a troll[/b] is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
What about my comment was either off topic, inflammatory or extraneous?
Inflammatory? I addressed Bioware and EA. Not the community or players. and my language was appropriate and well within forum guidelines.
extraneous? others are talking about it as well so it is relevant
off topic= I created topic so it doesn't apply.
Trolls are the guys in this thread attacking me personally and talking about topics unrelated to my original post.
Consider yourselves informed

Rofl. New to that, I see. Used to update once every few weeks. Or months. Check out the "bugs" section in TF2 wiki, it's about the size if Britannica's. Most of those years-old, with people asking for fixes all the time, for years on end. Some really serious bugs (CM projectiles becoming full crits on reflect) and huge balance issues (wrangler being able to withstand a demo uber) persist.RANDOMvGRENADE wrote...

The weekly updates began recently, and it's mostly just small stuff, one fan-made cosmetic item, one or two minor glitches fixed, one or two new glitches introduced. Seriously, those bug fixes give us hope for the future, but before that the game had existed in a super-glitched state... for at least four years.
The game whose doom you're spelling came out a few weeks ago. Some difference, heh.

When the stuff people pay real money for doesn't work (Buy a pack with real money that contains Ops-Survival Packs... They glitch and don't work.) They feel the need to save their asses by dangling a nice free DLC carrot in front of us.
Not to mention the fact that there are a ton of other bugs making the game nearly unplayable for some people. (Vanguard glitch etc.)

reguardless, this is NOT TF2, nor will it ever be if they don't jump on these things quick. The console gamer is a lot less forgiving than most PCers, and much more likely to just move on.

So bioware pulled your pin, and you exploded. It's what happens to grenades, you should not be suprised.
Win!
Just opened the thread, saw the OP, read the rant, then the response and am now leaving because it could only go downhill from there. Thanks xtorma, that gave me a good chuckle.

Funnier still is that it was more a lament than a rant. Barely a paragraph worth of post, and yes, it did go downhill for a bit, but I think good sense is finally pervading this discussion

I don't think accusing Bioware of purposely taking down the server is really justified. It's not like they're conspiring against you or something.

Only the game was never meant to be TF2, nor was it ever meant to compete with it.
It was an experiment to see what the public response to multi-player in the Mass Effect universe was. It would have been a very poor business move to throw a ton of resources at an unknown like that.

I've been gaming since Atari, son.
I had a pong console in the 70s and then later got an Atari 2600. If you really had the Atari, you know as well as I do that some of those games had glitches in them that were never patched. That's right, Atari never once sent me a new game cartridge to address those glitches. Still, I was able to enjoy the game and never once threw a cartridge out the window while swearing to never buy another Atari game.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and before the pong console, I was a wicked candyland gamer.

I've spent most of my working life in jobs where I bend over backwards to keep my clientele happy. I'm always grateful when someone comes to me and tells me they have a problem. This gives me a chance to fix it. From a business point of view, it's a hell of a lot better than the clients who just give up and never come back. Of which I hope there are none, but accept that is very likely not the case.
I can understand that, to a lot of forumites, people having yet another whinge about some aspect or another can get grating after a while. But I also have learned, in my own life, that 'whinging' has a very important place in the world. It's one of the ways things change for the better. Maybe not always the best way, and certainly not the most pleasant, but good can come from it if the people behind the product, in this case Bioware, care enough to do something about it. And personally, I think they do.
