Multiplayer Issues - Online Pass Problems

Hey everyone,
For those of you being asked for a new Online Pass - do not purchase a new one. This issue is related to the Commendation packs and the team is actively working to resolve. 

Apologies for any inconvenience this causes. Here is my go-to picture of Garrus and a baby turian in the meantime. :mellow:

7:00PM PST - UPDATE
I've received word from the live team that work is ongoing and the issue will be fixed during the night (PST). We expect to have this working tomorrow morning (again PST).

Hi guys,

The Online Pass problem was fixed at 3AM PST. A quick postmortem about the issue:

This Wednesday we were granting Commendation Packs from Operation Exorcist and by accident the Commendation Pack was granted multiple times to many users (they could only redeem it once though). This lead to another problem: the game client couldn't read data from our servers properly. Therefore, the game client would think an Online Pass was missing. The quickest solution available was to delete all Commendation Packs from Operation Exorcist so that the Online Pass issue could be solved. We have done this. Bear with me that we had to make sure that this solution wasn't going to make it worse. We had to double check and triple check before making the changes to the live database. This is why the procedure wasn't as fast as we hoped for. Also we needed to implement it at a time when the traffic was low to minimize other issues.

Now we need to grant the Commendation Packs again for all people that haven't redeem it yet. We will continue to work hard until the packs are correctly granted today. We will announce here and on our social media channels when we finished granting them.

We apologize for all the trouble created with this issue. We are reviewing all internal procedures related with the grant of Commendation Packs to avoid similar issues in the future.

All Commendation Packs from Operation Exorcist were granted. If you didn't get yours please contact our Customer Support.
