Well I have been having this problem recently where my console copy of the game freezes up randomly. Has anyone else been running into this and have an idea what causes it.
I would go report this to EA, but we already know that is a waste of time.

I think it's pretty much the norm for anything other than Live Arcade games to freeze up occasionally on the 360. I'm guessing that it's usually down to a combination of poorly optimized software, and the hardware being driven too hard and overheating. Possibly, as a consequence of the former!
Either way, the only practical solution is to save regularly, and keep your fingers crossed!

I've probably got over 100 hours out of this game by now and it has never frozen.
But I have the game installed to the HDD.
If you don't have the game installed then try installing it.

Installing games to the HDD will fix your freezing problem 99% of the time. Typically a game freezing is caused by a damaged disc or the unit not being able to read something on the disc. Installing takes the reading of the disc part away from the system, and allows it to run on less power.

Ya I was also running into the freezing problem only when I was getting long sessions of gaming in. Then I installed to the HD and I bought one of those cooling fans for the back of my 360 and Ive never had it freeze on me since. Plus with the fan my xbox doesn't even get hot anymore even with 4-8 straight hours of gaming.

I always install every game I play to hard drive. DAO has froze on me more than 15 times. I even had the game freeze on me in the exact same spot 4 times in a row. I then cleared the cache on the box and was able to continue playing. Some of the freezing is related to the memory hole bug that gets worse the longer your play session is. Now I always exit game and turn off the xbox, then restart if I plan to play for more than 3 hours or so. I can tell it is time to reset when corpses start taking forever to become lootable.

It only would freeze when I had it on for an unnessecary amount of time. but then I installed it to HDD and it works fine.

I have the game installed to the HDD already and it still freezes on me every once in a while. I am dealing more with one of the error messages popping up repeatedly.

I'd experienced it 3 times on my second playthrough. Now on my third.

There is a rumor (or not so much rumor) a memory bug. If you play for long periods of uninterrupted time, weird things will start to happen. It's time to shut the game off, and restart your console. Even let it cool off some. That has helped me. About 3 hours and things might start to go kittywompus on you.

Yeah. I tend to restart my game with I start noticing lag in loot drops.

It's one of the issues with the 360, sadly. A speck of dust the size of an electron gets on your disc and you have issues. It was freezing up on me, as well (trust me, first playthrough, about to get the cut scene to kill THE ultimate high end baddie in the game, and it freezes...Adria was NOT a happy camper.)
Yup, installed it to HDD. No problems with freezing since.
