I'm close to maximizing all rares, and I don't expect to do this on the ultra-rares, given how difficult it is, but I'll play as long as I have fun, I still didn't experiment with some characters.

Yes, because it totally makes sense to compare those two games. The Diablo series has been fantastic over the years, and if you've been a fan pre-Diablo III, odds are that you're very excited for this to release after so many years. If you do not enjoy that particular style of game, obviously it would not appeal to you (hence your lack of enthusiasm) but many of us are very excited for it to come out. Especially after being in some form of development for over 10 years. Same thing happened with Starcraft II.

Well, I'm not really a person that thinks that graphics are everything in a game. I would play a game that's fun no matter how "bad" it looks =P
It's also par for the course for Blizzard. None of their games have incredibly high graphics quality, but they have a nice aesthetic to them.

I will play it till I get board of it I have the commons all at levelX , and ultra rares? what r those? I have wraith 1 and scorpion 1. But the game is enjoyable with friends. if they stop I may stop as well cause randoms with no mics or team play make it tedious. Looking forward to Future soldier but not diablo, not my kind of game.

I'll keep playing 'till I get bored. Getting certain weapons to X level might help me stay entertained for longer, while weapons I have no interest won't make any difference and will in fact just annoy me (that weapon card could have been a falcon upgrade dang it! But nooooo...).
Of course, if it takes too long to level the weapons I want, I may lose interest anyway. It depends.

I've maxed out everything but the ultra rares and got all characters unlocked with all appearance stuff unlocked and I'm still playing everyday. I'm really hoping this rebellion pack is legit so I can have some new stuff.

Already have all guns at X except ultra-rare/N7. After the 15th, I probably just play multiplayer during the Operational weekends or an occasional match when D3 servers are down or too busy.

Not always true. Fan of Diablo 1 and 2, fan of Starcraft 1. Do not care in the slightest about Diablo 3. Starcraft 2? Never even played it. Was excited at first, then saw how bad it was going to actually be, and decided not to waste the money.
So, yeah, it's reasonable for people to be unimpressed with D3.

Leveling up my weapons is not the reason I play. I play for the fun challenge and the online socializing with people from my players group.
So at the moment I expect to play MP until the extended cut ending comes out... Then I'll do a couple SP runs with my Sheps (male and female) and then probably go back to MP again.

I'm mostly done after the 15th. Getting level 10 ultra rares is near impossible. I've spent how ever many millions of credits on premium spectre packs already. I would really love to try out a level 10 black widow, but it simply is not worth the time and effort to get it.
And I could spend the cash, but it would be about $60 per ultra rare upgrade based on how many credits I've spent on average to get each upgrade. No way that is worth it.

It seems to me that a lot of games coming out recently are getting these bare bones multiplayer modes slapped on to make the company extra money. Having an manipulative weapon unlocking system where you can pay cash instead of wasting your time seems to be the norm. "Optional" DLC containing maps and new guns will be made every few months to add fuel to the fire. Sure you don't technically have to buy the DLC to keep playing but who wants to be the only one running around without the new weapons that are ever so slightly better then the ones from the last DLC. ME3's multiplayer will be no different. They've taken an extremely popular franchise with an already established, and very loyal, fanbase and pimped it out. The money from sales alone isn't enough for these companies anymore. I've been an extremely loyal Interplay/Black Isle/Bioware fan since the early 90s and they have never dissapointed me until DA2 came out. Now they've taken the great storyline developed in ME1 and 2 and butchered it. I really hope Bioware can come back with their next game. Don't give in EA's BS.

Oh god I hope not. That would be an unbelievable time sink. I've been playing from release and I don't have a rare weapon maxed.

you know when they finally might possibly almost consider to ponder giving a release date.
not a Diablo 3 fan, im sure it will be a fun game for some people.
but for me playing a character from the sky just isnt my thing.
i realize this isnt a bash [insert game here] thread.
but that style of play makes me feel detached from the character/gameworld.
most importantly whatever game you pick, i hope you get to actually play it.
looking at you ME3 MP

Can't tell for sure. Unless they are giving us some modes that are more fun to play through it is entirely possible I will grow bored of playing it when there's nothing to be had apart from the match.
But seeing the droprates of those ultra-rares, it's unlikely any kind of boredom would wait that long for the former being the primary reason. Even a Grinder like me is poised to lose interest in grinding in some time. We'll just see how it goes.
