I think there were a lot of things that were done in the game as short cuts that ended up making Liara seem "forced"

the Liara's Time Capsule scene should have somehow involved your LI or if Liara is your LI the scene should reflect that.

Things like that I know there are more examples just can't think of em off the top of my head. but my point is i dont really think its the faul of Liara or her arc its more the fault of the other romance arcs not having the same screen time

That, IMO does not make Liara forced or a bad character or anything but it does show some laziness/rushing on Bioware's part.

Also that level of hate seems a bit extreme for a fictional character .

I wanted to like her after those two scenes, but those two scenes was all she had going for her.

I don't hate Leliana, but it most be noted that Morrigan is far superior to her.

Pssh thats one of the easiest choices in the game.  Leliana all the way man.  Now if you coulda romanced Shale.... jk.

Anyway, I'm in the minority share this guy's views on Liara, in my top 3 least liked squadmates.

OH GOD, I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE. She is insufferable, I can barely stand her being on my ship, let alone on my squad. She's the only one that throws a tantrum after her world is lost, and starts blaming Javik for being honest (or just being a Prothean if he isn't brought along). Garrus was distressed, but still held it together. Vega only got angry about Earth, while the VS seems to not really care. Javik's race has been dead for 50,000 years, their worlds burnt to glass, and he only desires revenge. Even Tali only killed herself because her people went extinct in a matter of minutes. It's just her, Liara "Oh woe is me" T'soni, the physically beautiful century old nerdy blue space babe who is also the Shadow Broker, that is freaked out at her species' respective husk and the loss of her homeworld.

I always found myself bringing Javik with me whenever I had to bring her with me due to story/tactical reasons. If Shep can't be mean to Liara, then I'll let Javik do it for me.

I think her role is supposed to be Shepard's closest friend.

The fact that she starts off as a romance, a very obvious one, makes her just seem creepy if the player doesn't persue it. Its hard for her to build into a close friend after that. 

I mean I like Liara on the whole - she does have alot of annoying character traits though. Annoyingly self-righteous. Boring how little she reacted to her mothers death in ME1. In ME2 she came over as a bit crazy. Then ME3 she is a mary-sue.

My biggest complaint with her was her crying scene after Thessia. Earth is burning, Paladin is burning, and only Thessia makes her crack and whine like she deserves to be pampered. Everyone elses worlds have been burning for a while now.

No no I understand. I actually usually romance Morrigan myself but Leliana is my favorite female character. Like how I romance Ashley but I also like Liara. She just feels better to me as a friend more than a LI. Now Kaidan...I just despise Kaidan

So? She's an emotional person and it's HER homeworld. Imagine you get the message that there's war and death in some country on the other side of the globe. Maybe it would make you think about it, make you sad, be sorry for the people there. And now there's death and war in your own country, your home gets destroyed and the people you care about are killed.  But noooo, sure yooouuu wouldn't cry or be devastated, no, cause that happened to that other country as well, right?

Question of personal choice ... I like Liara and she is still the only LI my Shepard had (she matches very well to story as well ).

I agree though that her ME1 romance feels very rushed (not enough dialogue to construct a real rapport between her and Shepard)
