18 hours downtime so far.. no single player either since missing DLC prevents me from loading my games.
There is a work around for this. Open Origin on its own, set it to offline mode and then open ME3. You'll be able to play any SP game you want. Its not a fix though it only cuts the game off from whatever is wrong.

Friendly my shiny metal ass. EA customer service is completely useless and has no clue whatsoever about what's going on. What's the point in hiring customer service if you don't care about their competence?Chrome N wrote...
+1. Online support was friendly but not helpful ("repair installation")

I'm glad others are experiencing the same thing.
Clearly a problem with EA's servers. Any idea what this might be? Any news from an official?

Yeah, BW staff confirmed it is related to Commendation Pack distribution. They have been investigating and working on a fix for several hours (6+) now.

The only update I have seen was on twitter that said they are aware of an issue and looking into it. I just called EA and they said that I was the first they heard about this. Good times!
there have been a few updates, the latest one said that they had identified the problem and were working on a fix.

know that the team is aware of this issue and is actively working to
resolve it for those of you having problems connecting to multiplayer

issue is resolved, I will update you.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Kinda slow aren't they?
I mean come on. The message spree of people with this issue started about 20 hours ago. If they only spent about 6 hours, what the hell did they do during those 14 hours? :/

Now's it's 4PM in Edmonton, and they've been working for at least 7 hours - why not let us know what's going on and give us a timeframe for a fix?
I honestly don't expect all of their technicians to spring into action a 4AM their time, but a little community support/notification during their business hours should be expected.
Anyways, it's obvious that they accidentally pushed an XBox or PS3 update out to PC users, which is causing us to get an XBox/PS3 warning. Their problem is probably that if they roll back their servers, players will lose a few hours of credits/upgrades etc, which would also lead to a s#itstorm in the forums. They're probably trying to combine the info they need post-update with the pre-update database, which I can imagine is a complex process.
But why can't they just make an official statement to let us know what's up/admit what the problem is?

Not a happy bunny, considering the MP feature is the only reason I still play ME3. I got bored of my attempt of trying the SP campaign again and simply don't care if I can't play it for weeks.
Hoping this gets resolved soon or maybe I'll just eBay ME3 after all. Not going to be forced into buying an online pass having bought the CE already.
edit:- and while the game itself is effectively "steam-ified", maybe some poor sod will actually buy the CE stuff that came with it. No value at all to me compared to ME2.

It doesn't even let you purchase the online pass. I tried for curiousity's sake and just got a cancel button. More fail from EA and BW
