Just happened to me as well. I own the CE, and have has very few issues since launch. considering the issues with multiplayer for the last 48 hours, it sounds like EA is having some catastrophic server/disgruntled and malicious tech support guy issues.

Edit: Also, am I the only one that thinks a system like this is completely insane?

I'm old as ****, and I've been playing computer games on and off for the last 20 years. A system that has to pause to authenticate your game every single time you go to the title screen using a buggy ststem just seems like a bizarre turn of events. I have no idea what to do about this, however, aside from just never buying a bioware/ea game again.

I mean hell. I'd understand if the multiplayer servers went down. That's just kinda how it works with online gaming. But Single Player? What the Christ?

It's always been the prerogative of companies like EA to take down those vile pirates stealing from them. They don't care who gets in their way... even paying customers.  These days, most of the time you aren't paying FOR a game, you're paying them for the privilege of playing their game. Most times, it doesn't even feel like that.

These breakdowns are just really here to remind you of who actually owns the game... Not us. Hell, I think pirates own more of the game as they're not restricted from when they can play it.

Just talked with an EA guy via live chat. They know about the issue and are looking into it but are having issues accessing accounts from their side it seems and can't help. So I think the accounts are getting booted because they can't be validated via whatever DRM junk they are running.

Exactly and this actually leads to more piracy. EA are just hurting themselves.

Just wondering.. is this affecting all PC users or just some of us "lucky" ones? Anybody got a friend who's PC version is working fine?

i have a number of friends who are Origin users and don't appear to have access problems.

unfortunately, i'm not one of the problem-free persons :|

i contacted the Live Chat support, and the tech i spoke with said there's NO ETA on a fix but that they're "aware of the problem".  why couldn't they just have stuck with Steam?

Funny, I redeemed my weekend event stuff, played one full match on Gold bought a Premium Specter case and went to play one more match and that's when it failed to load and I had to kill the game Via Task Manager. Then bang ERROR, I wonder if they messed something up with the Cases.

Indeed. I'd personally feel alot safer at this point if my game had been pirated, and was therefor not subject to constant authentication.

I dont remember steam doing anything like this, although I havent had steam installed for at least 2 years.

Here I WANTED to give bioware my cash. I've been a big fan since Baldur's gate. I kinda figured since EA aquired them, ME3 would likely be their final creative effort. Turns out they didn't quite make it that far.

Same situation here… Digital Deluxe Edition (PC). First I haven’t received any of my multiplayer packs from “Operation: Exorcist”, and now the thing says I don’t have an online pass anymore. This is really getting on my nerves… Someone’s greed for money and rejection of Steam, which is a good balanced and WORKING system, left us to deal with this crappy excuse for a program. Was it worth it, EA? Getting your fans to use this raw and almost useless Origin knick-knack only makes people disappointed and will seriously cut EA’s and Bioware’s profit in the future. If they don’t respect their clients, then why should people provide them with their paychecks and corporate profits?

P.S. Truly a pity…and I’ve been a Bioware supporter since the good old days of Baldur’s Gate and
etc.

Same issue here. I thought well hm this would be a good time to do some single player missions, but apparently you can't even do that because it thinks I don't have the DLC, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Origin is the greatest platform of all time. Validating ME3 so many times on start-up has obviously made it believe that I don't even own it anymore.

Just the regular PC edition here.

Only friend of mine who had no issues was one who did not play at all during the last weekend event.

Yeah, I suspected it had something to do with that, and maybe part of the fixed PS3 reward system.

Well, chatting with support didn't really help, but it makes me feel better inside being nice to the technical support person. I hope they're not overwhelmed too much today with angry players (who may have every right to be angry, sadly it's directed at the support workers who didn't make and can't fix the problem).

I must say, I'm surprised that a broken account retrieval would mess up single player. I never realized that ME3 didn't have an offline mode...

Please note, some things may seem in an odd spot since we both replied at the same time occasionally:

EA Help...

You are now ready to chat with Avinash.
Avinash: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Avinash how may I help you?
you: Hi Avinash, I'm currently unable to play the ME3 singleplayer because it is not letting me sign in to the online servers in order to validate my DLC
Avinash: Please allow me to explain
you: thank you
Avinash: It is an know issue.
Avinash: This is a temporary issue and our engineers are already aware of this. They are working to resolve this as soon as possible probably with in next few hours.
Avinash: There is some problem with the game code identification and database account retrieval
Avinash: That is creating the problem
you: I could understand that effecting the multiplayer, but even singleplayer is down. Does this mean I am required to have full internet access anytime I want to play the game?
Avinash: I assure you , your game and codes are safe
Avinash: Yes
you: Ah, that is a surprise
you: Well, thank you for your responses, do you have an estimate on when the game will be working again?
Avinash: I sincerely apologize for this. However there is no ETA.
Avinash: You can try after
Avinash: 4 to 5 hours
you: Thank you. Would you be able to contact someone who can post this to the online support forums? I don't believe the server issues have been publicly announced yet and there are quite a few of us having this issue.
you: I imagine if it is not announced soon, you will be dealing with explaining this to every player for the next 4-5 hours one person at a time
Avinash: Please post it on forums
you: I can't imagine that would make your job fun ;)
Avinash: and I hope the developers will answers
Avinash: The Queries
you: Ok, I was hoping you might have a faster way of contacting them. If not, I'll just put this up myself and hope they answer. Thank you
Avinash: Thank you for contacting EA. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
you: Not really, without the game working there isn't much else I could ask ;)
Avinash: You have a valid reason to be disappointed.
Avinash: I understand
you: Not your fault, I just hope things are working soon. Thank you for your help
Avinash: Thanks for understanding
Avinash: You are very understanding
you: Not a problem, I understand technical difficulties. I hope you have a good day
Avinash: Thanks
Avinash: Thank you for contacting EA. I appreciate your time. Have a great day.

You paid your 40/60$. Played a little? Finished SP? Participated in some MP events? So now GTFO. That seems to be EA attitude towards it's clients

The weirdest part of the problem is if you click the "Redeem Online Pass Code" they give you a prompt to "Enter Cerberus Code". Wasn't that ME2's online activation system? Did they link to the wrong system somehow?

Then again the servers may have been indoctrinated.

Wow, I was wondering if it was just me for a second.

Now that I know this, has anyone confirmed that this is happening to the console groups by any chance?
EDIT:  Actually, yes, it is.

Also, I enjoy the fact that it's asking for a Cerberus Code.

WE'VE BEEN HACKED!

Edit:This may very well be some maintanence, but I sincerely doubt that, myself.  They wouldn't lock people out of their singleplayer game in order to do this, right?

But seriously, Cerberus Code?

I posted the same issue both here and on EA forums. It was fine yesterday, but when I got online to check if the weekend com packs came out yet I got the issue.

My best guess at this moment is when trying to put up the com packs, they messed something up. The fact this also messes with DLC for single player is a pain too and until fixed, kills all gameplay in my book.

I'm wondering, is it just some of us though or is this a problem for just one system, or across all platforms/everyone?
