May 2 Multiplayer Balance Changes

- Total credits rewarded for a match is unchanged
- Increased share of total credits for wave 6 by 10%
- Decreased share of total credits for wave 10 by 10%
How are the total credits unchanged? 10% off of Wave ten and 10% more on Wave six doesn't make it equal, thats less, since Wave ten is higher than Wave six...
Can anyone explain this to me?

I thought there was only a single phantom added to Silver's extraction wave. I counted three, almost got me off-guard.
One at a time, I'm guessing.

This is what we did:
Where 60% of your total credits for the entire match were earned in wave 10, we have dropped that amount to 50% and moved them to wave 6.
For example, if you earn 20k credits in a match, 12k credits were earned in wave 10 alone. With our change and using this example further, you earn 10k credits in wave 10 and those 2k credits are earned in wave 6. Your total earned remains 20k.
Cheers!

Just to set the record straight on credits earned in a single match. I know the wording in our balance change was a bit confusing. Our math is fine but our wording is sometimes skewed. Your total amount earned in a match has not changed.

Thank you for explaining this. I was about to post the same question, but I understand it now. If I see/hear others complaining, I'll help spread the word.

And maybe this is a sign that Biotic combos aren't the end-all combo any more. Tech Bursts do the same damage (less force) but have a much larger radius. Maybe its about time to switch from Reave/Warp to Overload/ED. I know I've wiped out huge groups that way with the Salarian Engineer/Turian Sentinel combo before.

OK all I know is Silver is Hard now and gold...I cant make it past wave 5 with randoms. only when I got the team together later did we clear a gold level. and it was geth, they got faster and some brains, not by much but enought to catch us off gaurd. ( On Hydra not white, even though white was noticably tougher as well, they would actually flank us and were running up to us LIKE SPRINTING.)
If enemies are buffed then the change list will say so.

Let me explain why:
Sure, the Asari Adept is a very powerful class, but broadly speaking its a class that encourages cooperative play via explosions, exploitation of stasis by snipers etc.
It feels that by nerfing the biotic explosion you are not just nerfing that ability but nerfing coop play, that should be the name of the game.
The way i've always looked at a team based game the highest rewards should come from working together and a great example of that is power combo's like biotic explosion/tech burst etc. If you want to nerf biotic expolosion, nerf it when both both the set up and trigger come from the same player then increase the bonus when two players trigger one.
That rewards team work and hampers players that want to go "lone wolf". As it stands bioware have made it harder to play one of the classes that works best to support other players and combine with other classes. They also left the classes that work best as "lone wolf" (nova-guards, Infiltrator etc) crazily powerful.
Please think about rewarding team work in the next balance changes.
Thats is all.

Gotta love all the biotics who didnt say **** when everything else was getting nerfed doesnt feel so good at least they didnt increase the weight on all the weapons you use like they did to almost everyone else but you'll be fine just remember how horrible it was when they nerfed the falcon
you do realise that most people play more than one class.... at least i hope you do....
I actually play 4 classes adept soldier engi and infil and sometimes battlemaster when i want to beat something to death but the point i was trying to make sry if it was unclear was peopke will **** now but in a week they'll see it didnt really effect them that much

Yeah, about 90% of the Gold lobbies consist of Infiltrators + a random Engineer these days. That sure explains why Biotics needed a nerf.
When they start balancing the game around FBW:Geth I'm done with this game.

Want to start fixing Grenades, make some of them regen, the same way thermal clips do.
They cant do this.
If nade regen like thermal clips do, we will see many soldiers near ammo boxes like human turret, spamming nades all the mission.
Buff frag granades means buff soldier class in general. Good change.
Cos that they arent buffing others granades too.

Prevented thousands of people from playing the game by introducing a bug that will ask them for online passes on PC.

I disagree, it was not confusing what so ever in context with "the total amount of credits is the same"

Stop nerfing stuff.
Capcom tried to balance Super Street Fighter 4 by nerfing a lot of characters and the game became a borefest, with only 10 real characters AT BEST. They only really balanced the game in AE 2012, the latest version of street fighter 4, where Capcom mostly buffed the cast (there where very few nerfs).
Keep in mind that SF4 is a highly competitive game, with a lot of tournament money involved.
SSF4 became a "borefest" when they added Yun, a hilariously powerful character that many pros switched to, effectively making it Super Kung Fu Fighter 4: Yun Edition. The latest version you speak fondly of, AE 2012, was where Capcom... brace for it... nerfed Yun instead of bringing others to his broken level, once again allowing for diversity in the comp scene.
Incidentally, "mostly buffs, very few nerfs" is precisely what Bioware has been doing so far. If you look through the patch notes, I think you'll find that buffs outnumber the nerfs by a great deal, it's only that every nerf is accompanied by a chorus of complaints, out of which many openly admit that they complain out of "principle" rather than concerns for balance.
In fact, if you look at the list, just counting the weapons and powers tweaks and assuming that a "increase power and weight" cancels itself out, there have been...
March 6: 4 n 9 b
March 13: 2 n 4 b
March 20: 1n 6 b
March 27: 0n 5 b
April 3: 0n 9 b
April 10: 0n 1 b
April 17: 1n 15 b
April 24: 0 n 9 b
May 2: 1 n 5 b
...nine individual power/weapon nerfs. NINE. One thing nerfed in the whole April (number of enemies targetting decoy/drones/turrets). Compared to 63 things buffed so far. Compare to the amount of complaints each time one of those nerfs gets introduced.
So, in short, Bioware is taking a delicate brush to their work, rather than a heavy bat, only nerfing things that are overused to the point of trivializing the challenge (Falcon being an instant win gun without need for aiming, sabotage utterly dominating gold geth and so forth). People are just blowing it out of proportion.
You bring up the example of Capcom while admitting they nerf things too "in moderation", well, good job Bioware then is what it means, I guess?

Damn, you are angry aren't you? Relax dude...
I am talking about SSF4 (not AE) when i said Capcom nerfed stuff too much. I mentioned AE 2012 because Capcom did a very good job there.Nothing in ME 3 is broken like the twins ( even then, people were adapting - who won EVO 2011 again?), and nothing here needs to be nerfed. It's just a fair warning. Please take your time reading before replying.

He didn't strike me as angry, but actually made a very well thought out post. Instead of saying stop the nerfs on a general basis you should present some arguments on relevant matters. Such as in the tactical cloak discussion.
You realize that buffs and nerfs are two sides of the same coin, right?
Balance is crucial in any game.

There is nothing broken here, believe me. I used to play a lot of fighting games, and i know how important balance is. If you ever played MvC 3 (just using a recent example), you surely know what is something really broken.
I ask for buffs, not for nerfs. I think the soldier class should be much better with weapons than the infiltrator, but this doesn't mean infiltrators need to be nerfed.

I like the greater incentive to use ammo packs, especially on higher difficulties.
