Well lets face it certainly explains all that bickering going one between Morrigan and Alistair, seemed like brother/sister rivalry to me, guess that Maric really got around (probably every 2nd person in Ferelden will turn out to be his kid if things keep going this way)
And mabye if there's gonna be some tainted demon child mabye it's better they are a 'specially enbled' child due to possible inbreeding (can't really do much damage then)
Well, they did say A Song of Ice and Fire was one of the inspirations for the game.

Is it ever stated for certain that Morrigan came from Flemeth's womb? I was under the impression that it was just as likely that Flemth abducted Morrigan as an infant. Perhaps she was actually born to the Chasind, or some other people living out in the wilds.
You can ask Morrigan about this. She says that she really doesn't know whether she's actually Flemeth's daughter or whether she's some child Flemeth abducted.

Great now we could end up with a demon, tainted, soul of an old god retard kid.
That's just... wrong
David Gaider would not let this madness happen, right? ...RIGHT? o_O
I've heard some people say that Morrigan is slightly based on Morgan le Fay, so, really, them being half-siblings would fit with the Arthurian lore.

That might have been me. I do hope that doesn't end up being the case because I feel there are enough Arthurian overtones as it is without adding Mordred to the picture. Plus Morgana is not really that interesting of a character (outside of the Mists of Avalon, that is).
Assuming it's not the case, Morrigan's father really isn't important.

This will lead to a massive civil war in Ferelden where every single person in the country claims the throne.

In DA2 it'll turn out that Maric is the father of *everyone in Ferelden* since the guy dropped his pants 23 hours a day with one hour left to put them back on.

I'm cracking up so hard because I can believe this.

She's pretty awesome in Rosalind Miles's "Quenevere Trilogy" too.
But.
Either way, it doesn't bother me too much, but I don't think we'll ever know Morrigan's real origin. She was raised by Flemeth and, I think, that's the most we'll ever know.

So king Maric was a pimp and Alistair and Morrigan are related.
That explains quiet a lot come to think of it.

Ah, the disapproval hits would be worth it to see their reactions
And I agree DA2: Legacy of the Bed-Hopping King

I'd wager Morrigan would be more disturbed by the fact that she's related to Alistair at all, rather than that she doinked him.

Morrigan is the triple godess of the Irish cycle of myth representing the classic maid-mother-crone triplet. And well, she´s also the godess of war, berserker frenzy/madness and ultimately, Death.HarlequinDream wrote...

So her name is quite well taken from Dragon Age: in the game she is the maiden; after it, she may become mother and well, Flemeth (with all the soul thing) can be the crone.
