I have Valiant II. I didn't do the first weekend challenge, was still working on the single player. So for me I'm 2/2 for weekend challenges with the valiant =)

The Valiant is the best sniper against trash mobs.


Cannibals, marauders, centurions, even phantoms, they all die from a cloaked headshot (2 headshots are required if they are shielded). And its quicker than the BW in every way.


Just try it. :-)


Disclaimer: please, do not start a debate about which is better between Valiant and BW. The forums are full of those threads already.

the only thing better than Valiant is a Black Widow, and even that's highly debatable and largely down to personal preference.

I was hoping for valiant III but got a crusader I this time, still valiant II is my fav weapon for my geth infiltrator . Rapid fire high damage and super fast reload combined with a peirce mod and the ability to see through walls (from hunter mode) make this thing a real street sweeper for carving masses of trash enemies in short order. It packs enough punch to bring down a brute or ravager down in short order while reloading fast enough to drop an atlas with relative ease. Its also damn handy at taking out phantoms that are on the move, eventually I'll hit the little hussy!

Black Widow beats the Valiant in terms of raw power and DPS though.

well valiant can fire quicker so it can drop random mooks faster, BW can do a bit more dps to a boss creature, but it's still really close. BW can only fire off 3 shots per cloak cycle and get 2 with the bonus, Valiant can fire off 6 shots each cloak cycle and 3 with the cloak bonus.

So it's really hard to say either way. you could probably squeeze a little bit more damage out of the black widow if you never miss a shot, but not a significant amount more. Both get around shield gating without a problem.

Valiant has an advantage over the BW in that if you miss you can just keep firing, black widow will give you 3 tries but then you are stuck in an hour long reload, valiant is like reloading never even happens, so if you miss you can just keep on shooting. That helps a lot in close range fights if you ever get stuck on one, it can be hard to hit something that's close to you, especially a phantom ninja flipping around, so the valiant deals with them better.


It all comes down to playstyle preference in the end. there are enough pros and cons with each to balance them out to be essentially the same.

I got my first Valiant this time. I hate snipers in general, but this, out of all of them feels the easiest to use by far, and produces good results. Using this over BW if I ever feel the need to snipe.

Super jealous. I got the Hurricane, which is apparently the second best gun I could have gotten, but I haven't tried it out yet. Black Widow I is just too damn heavy for me, so I was hoping for a Valiant this time.

I just can't wait for upgrades on my Wraith for my shotgun Infil. !!! As it is, I use my Claymore X. Would love that extra shot without the reload, and the lower weight!

I can't remember offhand which of my clanmates has theirs up to a III, but someone here in Mass Rejects does and uses it loyally.

Props to ya. I'm glad I have it in the SP and didn't have to shell out 275,000 for the BW. Though, I might still do that anyway, since I got the BW in mp up to a V and have a bias for it, like my tendency to choose Pepsi over Coke.

black widow takes just about 3 seconds exactly to fire off all 3 shots, even if you hold the button down.

You would need to be a geth with hunter mode giving you a faster fire rate to make it get all 3. and also not break cloak with an ability first to lead off with.
