Must only be PC. I just got done playing on Xbox less than 10 minutes ago and had no problems. The servers had been down for the better part of a day prior to that though.

I had this happen last patch; your account details have become unsynched from the game.
The only way to fix this issue is to get in to a live chat with an EA representative and have them reset and reactivate your Mass Effect 3 account details. It's on their server's side and they have to reactivate both the game AND the "From Ashes" DLC (if you have it).
It's an absolute nightmare to get fixed. Best of luck. More information on this issue can be found on the PC technical support page.

Got that once a long while ago, restarting Origin worked for me. This was with the standard copy though, and happened before resurgence

ok guys, force an update on ME3 on your PC
it seems you have to download a patch.
to clarify, in your origin, right click on your ME3 icon.. then select UPDATE GAME or something like that.

it seems to have affected the entire EA network.. since I was also forced to relogin Origin (even when I had it to remember)

I have this too. I don't understand why there are MP Passes for sale for Origin copies anyway. You can't actually GET a "used" copy of an origin (as in, purchased in Origin, not a physical copy) game and you can't trade games between accounts. Also can't play SP because of DLC registration tied to online pass. Another really poor idea.

This happens once and awhile for me; usually following some sort of net hiccup.
Closing the game and rebooting origin has always fixed it with me; it's some sort of issue where you become 'logged out' of the network, and you get this error because, for all intents and purposes, you don't have a pass - because you're not logged into your account.

I laugh at everybody who has problems, since Xbox rarely ever does XD. Lawyered
which your laugh is useless, as some people now started to report it on xbox

This is the kind of stuff that promotes piracy, when unnecessary DRM goes wrong.
Have it on PC.
